    Netty— congrats Oma.
You ought to sleep well tonight. I am happy for you, but I still can’t get over the fact that you have grandchildren. You just do not seem old enough. Haha.

happy Wednesday! Lots to do and never enough time in the day to do it D: I was hoping to go and get some weeding done today but it seems like the weather is against me.

also @Netty congratulations! I'm glad everyone is doing well, mostly. I do hope they are able to be released tomorrow!

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 11°C and overcast. Rain in the forecast today.
Another busy day ahead, and trying to push through the rain. Some time today between 10-2 my new furniture is going to be delivered and I've got a plumber coming over after 3pm, plus a Dr's appointment at 9:30.
Have a great day all :)

Happy thursday everyone! It's raining again... so not much to do outside other than melt (i'm totally made of sugar not salt ;P ) I think it shouldn't be so hard I can't sit on my porch and crochet though! That may be what I do when I get home from work!

Good Friday morning all. TGIF!! Currently 11°C and overcast.
Its going to be a busy day today, 2 days worth of grass to cut at work plus some gardens to freshen up. Rain is making everything grow so fast!
Can't wait for the weekend to start, and then I can get my veggie garden planted!
Have a great day all :)

@Pacnorwest that is such a beautiful view!!

Happy Friday everyone! I am so happy that this week is nearly over with. I do have plans to pull more weeds this weekend when I can. I had someone come by my house to check it out. She helped build it (I was a part of the Habitat for humanity program and to answer your question, no the house wasn't free ;) ) and she complimented me on my herb garden, though it is scraggly with weeds and not quite ready, but I hope to go out either this weekend or next weekend to get some herbs to fill it in and hopefully keep the rest of the weeds at bay, lol.

@Shawchert thank you for the nice complements . :)

Today was supposed to be the day I was to tackle weeds in various atypical areas of the garden . But first ..I have to add skeeter prevention pellets to all the water features for the birds… Ack .. deer too… While I was out last week I was bitten to smithereens by some of those nasty skeeters. Yikes… sneaky buzzards. So today I am staying inside nursing huge skin eruptions, burning and blisters. I was diagnosed a few years ago… with … ( now promise you won’t laugh )…SKEETER SYNDROME.
Skeeter Syndrome is if a mosquito bites you and you then develop large areas of swelling eight to 10 hours later, you may have skeeter syndrome. Other symptoms include itching, fever and possibly blisters. Skeeters only pick on me cause they have a ‘Sweet Tooth’. :nerdy:

Last week while weeding and wearing protection clothing and dressed to the 9’s a tick some how got thru the layers of clothing and bit me. I am very unhappy to say the least. You know that bite left behind with the bulls eye mark on our skin referenced by specialist’s and tattooed on our brains forever. Terribly ill from that and tested for lime disease.. was negative. Thank goodness. OK … so today I’m ‘OUT’ …meaning I’m ‘IN’ … Staying inside because it will be in the 80’s today a good reason to not offer myself as bate to any more insects outside.

The spiders and flying insects will be out in full force hunting for various subjects to feed on. Not to mention the unscrupulous attack nature of “Yellow jackets”. The upside.. Today I will not be outside amongst their prey. Not due to choice but a forced decision . The down side…I will miss the various butterflies , birds and the occasional hunting expeditions of the resident hawks. And will miss several occasional hilarious comedy antics of the fast walking top notch birds called quail, out surveying the food source for the day.

So today it will be a beautiful day, suns out , totally blue skies , and I am thankful for the beautiful plants that have brought years of happiness and a lot of “Sunshine” in my life for obvious reasons. :smt023
    Y’all have a beautiful day.

@Pacnorwest did you tuck your pants legs inside your socks ?
I got lime a few years back and was sick for 18 months. No energy at all. Never got a bullseye, not everyone does but got a tripple whammy: lime, mono, and human Parvo virus all from one bite on the back of my knee from a seed tick. So, tuck your pants legs inside your socks, they crawl up ya and look for an opening in your clothes.

@Anniekay Yikes so sorry to hear about the many illnesss’ you received from a tick bite. I can’t imagine the torment you had to endure during that time. So happy to hear that you have recovered and back at enjoying life.

Looking up the tick health issues in my area. I found a disturbing warning..
The Pacific Coast tick is most frequently found along Oregon's coast and some inland areas. While generally less common than other species, it may carry pathogens associated with tularemia and spotted fever rickettsiosis, which can pose health risks to humans. YIKES & OMG

I always wear garden boots , socks tucked in and all the normal preventative stuff recommended. Now, thinking back it could have been when out playing frisbee , a daily minute by minute demand from a certain demanding pup.

I had to check to calendar to see what the day was today. Happy Friday everyone. We've been away for quite a while. My daughter has been here to take care of things but also worked from home during that time. She kept the green house alive, managed to cut some lawns, and kept the garden plants going with a garden hose as the irrigation wasn't hooked up yet. Most importantly she took care of her Bestie Beastie Angus.

It's good to be home. Today is a rest and laundry day and some meal prep. Tomorrow will be tomorrow...but I still have not planted my squash seedlings ( giants now) and corn, so that must be done if I can be away from the house for a while.

All of the leaves popped and the wild lupins bloomed while we were gone. It's like coming back to a different season completely. Very nice to see and hear my old friends the leaves in their full glory. All of the young Evening Grosbeaks and their young are at the bird feeders keeping busy. It's very good to be back.

Nice to see your back Melody Mc. It’s always a nice welcoming feeling when we come home after being away. Nothing like Home Sweet Home. Hope to see more pics of your beautiful garden soon..:smt023

Good Saturday morning all. Currently just 5°C and overcast, with a north wind and passing rain showers. What happened to spring?
HUGE plans today for getting work done in my gardens, but this weather just isn't helping. I may at least get the annual flowers planted in the back beds, but I don't think I'll be getting the veggies planted. Its just too cold. Lots of grass to cut too, but the rain is making that impossible.
I also have little baby birds, fledglings, all over the yard today for some reason. A lot of angry parent birds too, so its going to be a challenging day in the yard all around.
Have a great day all :)
