Dogs make people happy and feel appreciated and loved. I would love to see photos of everyone's dogs. Here is Rufus with a neighbor's little dog. He wanders down the road and comes to visit (I would NEVER let Rufus wander like that, irresponsible!, but I can't tell a neighbor what to do). I forget his name - Buster or Bruno or Bob or something. So I just call him Sparky. I think they like each other a lot. They just run around a bit, and sniff each other, and lay down to watch the breeze. Also, Rufus likes his teddy bears and squeaky toys.
You've seen Rags before. She likes her ball which makes sounds like an injured animal. She gets hard things to chew. She would tear a stuffed toy immediately to pieces so no "babies" for her to carry around !! She also was 18 months when I got her from a rescue and had 4 owners before me. She eats paper, including $100 dollar bills !! And makes me make my bed twice. As soon as I leave the room she tunnels under the bed clothes, moving them at least to the foot of the bed, then she rollllllllls all over !! She's a little devil but I still love her !! ( the little chit !! ) But, she is fully housebroken, tells me when she needs to go outside, tells me when the oven timer goes off so that I don't have to listen for it, and rides nicely in the car. She also HATES men, save for my plumber who she absolutely adores !! Go figure !!
She's a cute one, and a bit devilish! Rufus likes men but loves women. If I have him loose in the yard, he saunters over to men, but runs to women. My guess is that women are more expressive with him, compared to men. He is very attached to me, though. Any time there is a conversation, he runs and gets his loudest squeaky toy, then joins the conversation. He also liked to tunnel under sheets, then play-fights. Especially when anticipating a walk.
Lovely sweet dogs Anniekay and Daniel. Where would we be without them. Not one minute in my whole life have I ever ever been without a dog or two.
Daniel thanx.. Roxy is just a pup got her from a border collie rescue. Very much a sweetie. Will do anything I ask her. If I drop something she hops up picks it up and hands it to me. She’s a people pleazer. She’s a runner & can circle this place in 2 minutes or less, much like the ever ready battery always on the go & always ready to learn something new. She’s very smart and she has those doggie buttons for different needs. Her favs are “I need a cookie”. Or outside, water, play, want ball. She is very athletic does summersaults when retrieving frisbees or balls. Fun Lille gal. Never a dull moment. Chip and Dale the chipmunks drive her nuts.
Lovely dogs Daniel, Anniekay and Pacnorwest. This is Bramble our first Goldie, could never leave things lying around, when we're eating he would walk around finding things to pick up. He went into my jacket pocket and got my cotton handkerchief out and before i could get it he swallowed it, it came out the other end but i through it away. Hubby was doing some electrics with a socket, it took him a long time putting all of the wires in, he left the room only for bramble to pull it and all of the wires came out, he wasn't very happy.
Goldie was full of tricks to keep you on your toes. In some cases with my pups I replaced all things laying about with doggie and chew toys when they were small. They can be chewers and need ways to release tension too. Now it’s easier to trim and clip branches in the yard and don’t need to worry about any chewing on poisonous plants. Getting those heavy duty doggie toys they can’t destroy helps . The fav toy now is the auto ball thrower. They learned how to catch the balls and return to the open slot which automatically will throw the ball out for another catch. Self calming and entertainment at the same time.
