“No blemishes, no gardener”, my Bride says. Heh, heh, then laments that she cannot go out in public like this… “the arms will have to be covered”.

You have a nice set of rose gloves. I ought to get some for myself. My Bride likes our roses but wouldn’t touch them with a bargepole.

Looks like your bride has joined the garden party for establishing herself with lots of war wounds . Common practice around here.

Netty— you had my Bride laughing. Back when she worked, she had to get those hands clean after a hard days’ work, before going to her work.

Her solution was to soak her fingertips in pure bleach for the seconds needed to get them presentable. It sounds horrible, but it worked and it made her hands soft.
She worked in medicine and having dirty-looking hands just didn’t cut the mustard.

How can you tell a real gardener ?

You find a pair of secateurs resting next to their toilet.
    :p

I've started using Castor oil on my gardeners arms. It's really helping scars that I've had forever fade. I'm a believer. I need it because there's no way I'll outgrow having gardeners arms. It's just the way I do things

Oh yeah blackberry brambles are a nightmare. Even wearing chainmail those brambles always win in the end.

    There's the difference.

I'm not a "real gardener," that's why I always wear a long sleeved shirt, old chinos and an old golf hat.

Riley— haha, you can say that, but when I see what you have done with your gardens, lawn and structures….well that wasn’t accomplished by an uninterested or incapable gardener. No mate, you have the whole package— you can garden as well as build and repair. Who wouldn’t like to have those skills.
    Chapeau.
