Our forecast rain never materialised.....no surprise there. All upstairs windows are open but still too warm and muggy for .
3:10am and have given up on trying to sleep, now back downstairs as it's cooler and reading my library book. Hubs is still awake too but he's staying put in bed in the hope he'll eventually drop off to sleep. Forecast still reckons we have rain falling here for another hour......I so wish that was true. Currently 18C ( feels like 21C)

pretty nice here. I dont think I need to water. It's a good thing. Rufus and I were playing a little tug-o-war with a squeaky toy, and my back went out of kilter. He's as strong as a horse! So I have been nursing it for three days. I didn't curse, I don't know a good cursing language. I knew I should have stuck with Spanish. Or German. Bottom line, I'm not up to carrying a watering can right now,
@Daniel W it seems like it’s the little things that surprise us causing injury that drive us crazy. Like a game of tug of war with Rufus. In earlier times could have been simply a strength competition. But we all have been up to the realization that some days are tricky . Adjusting to our limitations as we age has made daily life a struggle in some ways and there always seems to be a tweek or two here or there. These tweeks are important to listen to and remember to be mindful of planning ahead even for the little things we seem to take for granted or forget at times. Remember we all have muscle memory an important factor as we who garden regularly understand it helps to keep us strong within our limitations. Yet like some of us the memory factor can be a little slower less forgiving than yesteryear. I had a similar issue I simply bent over to open a drawer and my back went creeeek. I hope your better soon . As you know I think the world of you and all your talented garden skills are always very enjoyable to see thru your daily posts of your garden progress and activities. I ended up making an appointment for a few weeks for therapy for back muscle strengthening and water exercises which is a gentle reminder as it encourages flexibility while teaching me to stay strong as I age. After a pool workout we all get a nice relaxing sit in the hot tub. OMG so relaxing on all the stress and strains it helps so much . Not a cure by any means but helping muscle memory to be more accepting of daily tasks .
@Daniel W and @Pacnorwest you guys !! Take it from me, the woman who broke her back in '92 and has sciatica and arthritis in her back. Two words: Blue Emu and a Shiatsu back massager. I get so stiff after working shovelling and hoeing, weeding and planting that when I stop working, my whole back siezes up. That Shiatsu back massager takes all the kinks out and loosens up my muscles and the Emu, even without the massager, helps in minutes, for me. If I had a tub I'd do a soak in hot water and epsom salts but I have only a shower.

Backs!!!! Go easy everyone ,suffering from severe sciatica since I was 15 years old and Osteoarthritis for 20yrs as well as Osteoporosis in the lower spine for the last 13yrs I know all too well unfortunately of gardening and then having to cope with a seemingly concrete spine afterwards!!! How we put up with the aftermath due to our passion for gardening. Take care.

Not just me @Logan some really knowledgeable advice from @Pacnorwest and @Anniekay . I'm seeing and hearing about so many people this last month suffering because they are out in their gardens during this very busy time of year trying to get everything done. More so maybe this year because they ( like me too) are trying to cram jobs in during the cooler parts of the day. I for one am so behind in my planting out and not all can be put down to my compromised mobility either. Currently full sunshine 20C ( feels like 21C) ,there is a nice cooling breeze that is making it pleasant to work out here this morning.
