It's a Sugar Baby. It's about 8" across. My shelving in the fridge is 8" apart, except the top shelf, so this fits nicely.
It has that nice greyish tint to the outside which says: "Pick me !! I'm ready!! " and the bottom has turned golden yellow, another sign it's ready.

Thanks @Sjoerd . I have been carefully picking the times when either some cloud bubbled up or I was working in an area with some shade.
Had to stop completely around 3pm as it was unbearably hot, might go back out after 7pm this evening.
I am pleased with what I have been able to achieve today and can see the end in sight in regards to the plants that have been patiently waiting to be planted out, hopefully tomorrow might be THE DAY.!!!:fingerscrossed::smt026

My friend came by yesterday and I got her a few plants, but it was so hot and steamy and her bf did not want to hang around very long. I guess he was hoping for some AC. I told her I will get her more plants later, and maybe it won't be so hot and steamy?

It is only the first day of summer, but I am ready for fall weather.... Oh well.

I want those giant old fashioned long watermelons... or several of them. I had had some watermelon seeds. I will look and see if I still have any. If I do, they will all get planted tomorrow. Occasionally I buy a dinky melon for my horse or the chickens. This melon was in the local feed store a few summers ago. I think they said it weighed around 230 lbs? I sure would like seed from such a melon! It is so hard to find good melons like this any more. A local farmer grew it, and he probably grew a lot of them. I know I cannot lift it, and would probably have to cut it up out in the garden and share with Horsey and the chickens. I took this photo... WP_20180813_001.jpg

Dead heading , harvesting some seeds, giving a feed to some potted plants.

Preparing the big Potted Lillies in readiness to be placed amongst the plants in the borders..I will probably wait a little longer before taking them away from the nursery area. This usually stops any Lilly Beetles from the permanently planted ones from finding then.:fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

I did a bit between the light showers.
    I dead-headed the last rhodo.
It's important, if you want to do this, that you get it done before the new leaves get in the way of your secateurs. Some you can dead-head by hand, others are too tough to break, as were the flower heads on this one.

    .

I also pruned back the camellia, which was pushing against a rhodo. I'll probably prune it some more and wire the rhodo to close the gap. I want to keep the shade off the edge of the lawn to keep the moss down.

The lawn has almost recovered. It got a cut today. The left-hand side needed no edging, as the grass is the same height as the bricks. On the right, I run my strimmer, down the joint between the grass and the path, a five minute job.
No moss anywhere. But it will need scarifying again.

Because it's been so warm, Iast week, I put the thick lid of a polystyrene box on top of the hedgehog feeder. They only feed when it's dark, but it might stop the heat building up in there during the day.

Thanks @Sjoerd . They are a good few years old now and after blooming they get taken back round to the nursery area until the following year. They get tucked up along the fence and once the leaves have died back they are cut off and the bulbs left undisturbed in their pots outside for the remaining year.

I will learn a lot from all of you.

@Sjoerd what a magnificent garden. Your love of gardening shows. It appears to be very organized.

@Oreti it's a lovely garden you have for your beloved furry friends. We have our animal family on our place but not with a nice planting to enjoy.

What!? You have a watermelon ready? I'm not jealous at all @Anniekay Have you dug into it yet?

Hi @Logan You are fortunate to get to use your currants. Do you make anything with them? I'm curious. I've never harvested from mine because they disappear faster than I can get to them. I can't figure out why I'm missing them my plants flower profusely and are so pretty, but that's all I get from them

Oreti— the way of handling your lelies sounds sort of professional. Impressive work, mate.

Columbia— I appreciate your kind words. Thanks so much.
