@Oreti it's better to keep mobile after replacement knees and hips. Hubby had both hips done and he's a lot better now, but he finds it difficult to cut his toenails, so i help him.

@Melody Mc. looks good and yes i can spot the rock berry.

We weeded the brassicas. It was very necessary. They are under a net at this point and difficult to get to. We also covered a blueberry bush. Notice to the blackbirds— the buffet is over.

Nothing today, just shopping and watching tennis on TV, though I may push the vacuum cleaner around the house later.

Trimmed back and deadheaded the Petunias and Geraniums in the display pots watered and gave them a feed this morning. Also had to re-stake a couple of the big Lillies that must've toppled over during our recent short but heavy rainfall .Just waiting for a laundry load to finish then I plan to sow a few seeds.

    Lovely weather today.:like:

I have a large section of garden in the front of the house that needs a simple, hardy, pretty fix. So...up steps my tough Hansa rose. I'm trying cuttings for the first time. I know that it is the wrong time of year, but with such a short season and limited time to get things in the dirt I'm giving it a shot. These are from new growth...but I may try a few with older growth and see what happens?? Kind of shooting in the dark on this one.

And this confused plant...I can't handle having Christmas inside anymore, and the hummingbirds are constantly at the window wanting to see it. So outside it went under the humming bird feeders. It has lasted a week so far, and now the hummers buzz around it instead of repeatedly tapping their beaks on the window.

Took some White Lavender cuttings this afternoon and sowed some more lettuce, We get through a lot of salad especially during the Summer as we have salad for both dinner and supper normally. I've sown the same seeds as our current batch which is a mix of 10 different Lettuce varieties.

Had to do a fair amount of watering this evening as the recent drop of rain didn't do much at all, even the water butts are still as near to empty.:(

Gosh ,I rarely iron anything and if hubs requires any of his clothes ironed then he has to do them himself. Since our brood fledged the nest my ironing days are done with.

Hey guys … I don’t even own an iron any more. I have memories of starching and ironing DH army uniforms that had to be pressed and creased perfectly. Those were the day’s. How fast time flies…so did my irons…:smt051

I had to fasten the front tire back on the tractor with clips that fell off and front the tire almost fell off. I was lucky enough to have the parts to put the tire securely back on with the new clips I had and the help of a good ole fashioned jack, then proceeded to mow the pastures.

Watered front and back gardens . Trimmed a few trees back and weedwacked the weeds invading the multitude of cracks in the driveway and other small areas around the garden borders. Then power washed the tractor and a couple deck chairs. Blew off the needles from the driveway…AGAIN…:smt021

Cleaned the garage windows that were getting a bit grungy. The weeping blue atlas tree hangs over the top of the windows and trimmed that puppy up to get to the windows.

Great to be out in the sunshine , not to hot , just right this AM , and soaking up some Vitamin-D. :rosy:

All I've been doing is picking the occassional ripe tomato, picking a few figs every day which I HAVE to give one to Rags or she throws a hissy- fit !! (I don't reduce my figs to one or two per clump; I like the small figs better. )That dog would, if I let her loose in the yard, eat every ripe fig she could reach !! :p

Watching the grass grow and the grass here in Saunaland grows an inch per night !! I hate  cutting grass so much !! It's the weedeating that gets me. Too much walking.
Nothing to do but grass cutting this time of year. That's ok because one day I will have so many flower beds that I will be left with only grass paths between them !! That's the grand plan. :)

Then I'm watching my beans grow. I'm not going to eat these beans. (Beans are not my favorite.) I planted some soy beans and some brown speckled beans that were in the pantry and they are all coming up. As soon as the beans get tall enough and start vining well...OFF with their heads !! I'll keep the beans growth down to 18" or so. The tops are going into the compost and in early fall the rest of the growth will get incorporated into the beds they're growing in. Topping them will make them thicker and give me lots to dig into the soil.

Next week I have to start my seeds under the grow lights for fall planting: brassicas and such. Then two beds outside, the new ones I bought, will get soil loaded into them and, as soon as it cools in September, flower seed that need cold stratification. I can not wait for fall !! :headbang:

Every winter I can't wait for spring and every summer I can't wait for fall. Vicious cycle, ain't it !! :smt044

Anniekay mowing grass is a necessary evil as they say. At least you have a super flower garden & a veggie garden to harvest various vegetables and fruits. That’s always a good thing.

The heat in your area is exhausting especially with the humidity. My visits with my family in Florida during summer is sorta funny. To go places in the heat is a comedy of errors…We get in the car with the air-conditioning blasting, park the car, put up shades in the windows , then race from the car in the hot sun to get inside the mall reaching the safely of the cool mall air-conditioning … then back home is the boring story in reverse . Constantly either running from one air conditioned place to another or racing thru an unexpected monsoon. And the hurricanes that’s a whole other story.
At least they don’t have to worry about volcanos like we sorta do here in the Pacific Northwest.
