All project plants have fruit on them. Outside looking in: As you can see, they have been generously suckered, pruned and tied-in. They have been mulched with chopped comfrey leaves. The feeding with comfrey tea is frequent as is the watering.
Hooray, we have colour! Yes the first tom to show colour is a Cherry tomato sort inside my glass house. We are over the moon— that an adult man can feel such a childish joy about this is astonishing…but it’s why I love gardening. Today the sun feels very hot on the skin, even through a shirt; however, things had to be done. It was again time to sucker, tie-up, prune and water all the toms. This was a watering day, rather than a feeding day, but it had to be done, especially with the heatwave on the way. Here are the toms on one side of the greenhouse, several plants had to be topped as well: Another plant was showing this: Then the eight plants trialing over by the neighbours got the same treatment as the rest: So far, so good.
