Quarter horses are bred as sprinters. They are super fast at a quarter mile race. My horse was called Eternal Dun Sun. Sunny tan with black points and a chocolate brown stripe right down his back and two on his shoulder. He was a VERY big boy !! 1100lbs. I don't know what that is in stones ??
Really nice cabbage!! I failed with mine like that. My pointy cabbage never set a solid core this year. The round ones grew much better.
Ta Annie I'm usually rubbish with them, only used to grow them over winter and then eat them as spring greens. Growing some more at the moment in the fruit tunnel to keep the butterflies off them, think they're called Judith Durham Early or something
Tee hee Ta Sjoerd I've just been out in the dark and caught one of the slugs that's eating the next ones Baited it with cat biscuits, works a treat
Tee hee I managed to blanch a bit of the Celery but it's a mystery how to blanch the whole stem I must be doing something wrong
Zigs— I use kitchen paper rolls to blanch my leeks. It may work for your celery. One of these days I am going to spring for lengths of PVC. They are re-useable unlike the kitchen paper rolls which I have to re-enforce with plastic tape. Nice harvest though, BTW.
Harvesting from your garden looks like you were a buzzy planter in spring. Looks so nice well worth all the efforts.
