I've always had trouble remembering names, someone told me he had a memory test, one was he had to say the names of the months backwards.
List the months in reverse order, or say the names SPELLED backwards ?? Listed, I can do...spelled...Einstein couldn't do
I sometimes have to go through the alphabet to remember a few names and this doesn't always work. I was on another board talking about tennis last night and I couldn't for the life of me remember Sue Barker's name. I had to Google "Question of Sport" to find it. As you can read, I haven't forgotten it since.
I had a trick to remember the registration of the previous car I'd had for twenty years. I invented the name of a "Polish bloke, Mutos Ludek." That was the only way I could remember it. I can't remember that of the car I bought in March. I've a note of it in my wallet. But I can remember the reg of the first car I had nearly seventy years ago, when I was seventeen, DPA 227. and my parents' old phone number, disconnected when they moved, sixty years ago.
Just saw the heading of this thread and wanted to share something. I've been married 48 years to this really sweet guy. He's having significant memory loss problems. This is new. I knew he had memory loss for over a year now, but things are getting bigger and more difficult. Find myself at a place I never wanted to be, but a place we all face in one way or another. Thanks for listening
