@Sjoerd you know you cause a run at the grocery store for bacon every year you post the pics of this tasty sandwich . I wish I had your tomatoes too… fresh from the garden.. Lucky you have such an abundance to harvest this season. More than usual. You are so right the BLT is a real treat.
Annie— I used mayo. The bacon sticks to it nicely so that when I put the two slices together it does not fall out. It keeps the bacon in place throughout tye eating. Pac— thank you, thank you. Yeah, the crops are rolling in now.
I don't use mayo, just butter on the bread. Funny story. When I was about 4 my Grandmother was eating a sandwich and I asked what it was. She said it was a BLT. What's that? I asked. She told me and asked if I wanted one. Of course, I did. When I got it I told her: " Nana, this is not a BLT ." She said: " Why yes it certainly is !! " Noooooo, it's a a BLTM !! You put mayonaise on !! ". I can't stomach mayo. . She ate it and fixed me another. I don't like vanilla either.
Annie— that’s a good story from your childhood. I guess using mayo is sort of a national thing over here. I use it on chips (friet) as well. I believe that folks in the states use catsup for that, right? “BLTM” chuckle. Good one.
Yes, @Sjoerd For chips (french fries) most use ketchup but some like Mayo or Ranch dressing and some restaurants offer vinegar as well.
