    Doris Troy wrote this herself.

This is a song by Gordon Jenkins and Johnny Mercer.
Written in the days before text messaging was possible.

Not to be confused with an inferior ditty written in the sixties by some Liverpudlian scruffy 'erberts, who pinched the title.

Played and sung here, by Mrs Elvis Costello.

I found this again when I was trawling YouTube this morning.
I have another version on a CD, which I copied to my music file, I've kept on successive laptops.
So I decided to rip this version and add it. I was surprised to find I'd started her file 21 years ago!
That's probably why I've got over 3000 mp3s in that file.
Small beer compared with many other contributors to audio/music message boards.

I've had this on a YouTube mp3 rip for must be about a couple of decades, I play it often in my car. It's the sort of track, "that needs to be played loudly." The bass on it is excellent.

My little Honda Jazz Crosstar, comes with eight speakers, including a bass speaker in the boot. It's tempting, but I don't often play anything loudly in the car.

But this morning I noticed a 45rpm copy on e-Bay which was quite cheap. So I bought it.

    It's destined for my 1969 Rock-Ola 443.
It may get played loudly in this!

My only problem is which of the 50 Motown and similar records in it, will I be taking out to put it in?

DHR good question. Leave Smokey Robinson and the Supreme’s, and a favorite Steve Wonder.
