Wouldn't ya know it !! I intended to pick up all my trimmings from this morning and ...down came the rain !! It's raining now still so those trimmings will just have to wait til the morning .

Phew!! It's going to be a warm one today. Our 'feel like' temps really show how misleading the basic temps can seem on a first read!!. 27C is how it feels here.....and it most certainly does too!! I'm meeting a friend for a pub lunch ,this entails a fair walk there and back as it not on a bus route..

Sunday and Monday it reached 99 to 101 here. Even the mornings were pretty hot. I mostly just watered then. At times like this, I'm very grateful for the changes we made last year. We had a white metal rood installed, with attic ventilation and new insulation. Also, the paint is a light color. These efforts keep the house very comfortable with minimal use of the heat pump. And that is the other part, we got a new heat pump earlier this year. During this weather, I need to stay mostly indoors. Today will be hot, but not as bad. These are the dog days of summer, named for Sirius, the dog star. Just arrived home from a 2.5 mile walk too hot for me and my recovering knee which is now complaining loudly.
