We harvested quite a lot of beans, paprikas and tom…but it was also time to collar the leeks. I am two weeks or so too late, but other chores took precidence. We can harvest the leeks in two or three weeks if we want.
Oh, and I thought you just planted in a trench and filled it in with dirt as they grow. Your way is much cleaner !!
Annie— I do plant them in a hole in the bottom of a trench, the collar is just to extend the length of the whiteness.
Oh no, that is bad; but with this dryness and heat it is little wonder. Sorry to hear about it though. I hope they will have time to grow and fatten-up a bit.
