Way down yonder in the Paw paw patch !!

    It's not a common fruit over here but when you do see them they get laden with fruit. Trouble is, rats love them. They had all the fruit last year. They taste like custard :D

    Well then in that case the first time paw paw fruits from seed I’ll be in my 80’s. But hey your never to old to enjoy a new tasty fruit.

    Anniekay Well … maybe it would be easier just to have a ripe paw paw sent over night. No telling what happens during the unpredictable winter weather around here.

    Fun fact: They aren't grown commercially. They don ship well. :)

    Paw paw fruit is something new to learn about . Yet I have never had the opportunity to taste this fruit because the fruit doesn’t ship well and we have a short growing season. Our climate is considered a temperate climate. We can grow many fruits that require a freeze to set fruit but I never had luck with growing subtropical climate fruits that require a longer growing season. We have a very short growing season compared to South Georgia’s. There seems to be that slight bit of variability in our climate that restricts enough growing time (warmth mainly), for most subtropical fruits to grow to maturity.

    I would love to try it! A few years ago my son went somewhere down Chicago way and he and a friend went looking for some. I don't know if he got any.
