Security must be lax at Hialeah. Maybe put them in Alligator Alcatraz.

73°f - 90 It started out sunny but then big fluffy and then cumulus rain clouds started in. When I took my clothes off the line around 2:15 pm I heard rumbling off in the distance so, it may rain soon.

Oh my word that looks terribly @S-H . I can't get over the calmness of the people as they try and pick up the threads of their daily rountines...in one clip it shows a couple hand in hand wading through the water as if out for a stroll.!!!
There is no anger or panic displayed either when various vehicles ( big and small) power through the water passing the many, many people on foot and cause wave disturbance.

Thoughts are with you all, keep safe.

I knew this would happen. Climate is getting more and more extreme. Before we use to get such massive rains once in one and a half decades or perhaps two decades.

But now we are getting such rains every 2 to 3 years regularly.

I however am fine, I have no worries, as I was prepared for this. My house too is on higher ground, (I wasn't stupid enough to be living in low ground areas). Plus I have my own independent renewable power, as well as big batteries for storage. And I drive a big vintage SUV (that I've restored myself) with 33 inch tyres. Therefore I've got absolutely nothing to worry about - While rest of the city is now without power and internet since several days.

The people, frankly speaking in my opinion fully deserve all of this, (and more)! By voting for the incompetent politicians - I was most happy during the years of military martial law in my country throughout the late 70s and 80s. That's when I saw things get done I swear. Because the only way to make anyone in administration do anything, is if several loaded guns are pointed straight at their heads.

Otherwise this buffoonery happens. Yet the people demanded democracy? Fine, go enjoy this now! At least my consciousness is clear, as I swear I have never voted in any elections. Therefore I have no part to play in this sin. Which I guess now explains why I am safe, while everyone else is miserable. Call it karma, fate, poetic justice, or whatever, but this is how it is.

See this video (link below) of the emergency room of the biggest hospital in the city.

    https://youtube.com/shorts/9K76CQHHFqw?si=N18Iem1CeZGd8llk

I fully understand that in the West it is taboo to speak against democracy, (equaling to blaspheme if not worse) - but I am a person who grew up under military dictatorship, so I have literally seem both ways of governance, and so I'm today damn proud to have experienced those golden years of despotism. Because this level of incompetence wouldn't have happened, if the military was still in charge of everything. Anybody goofing off in the administration would have faced the firing squad immediately. And rightly so, as there is no excuse for this level of incompetence.

Yes the climate is getting more extreme. Yes times are also becoming hard, specially after the pandemic, as the world is recovering from such a hardship. Modern times have indeed taken a toll on everyone. But that still is no excuse for the city administration to deliberately let thing slip out of their hands - Why didn't they make more effective drainage? Where were the emergency services at such a time? I have the answer for all of this mismanagement, but I'll stop here, as this is about weather...

This video above shows how Karachi is normally, (you need to click the link as the owner of the video has disabled embedding).

However right now thieves are having a field day, by stealing whatever they can from stranded cars which the owners were forced to abandon on the roadside, (or else they would have drowned in their cars). But now when they went back to get their cars - They discovered that the batteries from nearly all of them have been stolen by someone.

However smart people still had a workaround this this as well, so their batteries were still there - Only in Karachi! See link below! :D
