It's very exciting, as in my part of the world we are going to be witnessing a total lunar eclipse! And of course, if I get to see it - I'll make sure you all will also.
In 2011 I made a video of the total lunar eclipse over here. But YouTube struck it down - However it's still up there on Vimeo, (my backup channel).
@Zigs - YouTube has become such a wet blanket I swear... @Anniekay - Doesn't matter, as I'll show it to you all here. Only problem is the weather, as there's a new storm front moving in. Which most likely will bring more torrential downpour.
You'll have to hold a quarter up to cover it There was an eclipse when I lived in Wales, I was taking pics (but the film jammed in the camera ) When the shadow covered the moon completely there was an earthquake at the same moment
I just want the residential address of only 2 people now... CEO of YouTube, and the guy who invented auto-correct text - As both are responsible for a lot of torment.
Speach to text on the phone is a nightmare too !! A friend of mine texted his wife that he was going to Habarr, which is a little development in a town west of here and his wife got : "I'm going to a bar."
Almost all year round I am always roasting under a sizzling hot sun and mostly clear #&€%ing skies - But now, just when it was time to see a total Luna Eclipse, my sky is overcast from horizon to horizon... I can't ever win, can I? I was so well prepared for it this time. Even built an astronomical telescope!
Can't see it anywhere over here in Karachi. As the sky is completely overcast. But from elsewhere in the world it is being seen, and uploaded live on YouTube for anyone to see. https://www.youtube.com/live/RxRsdeEW8Jw?si=F900OTNAPvttdgKm
No show at the Karachi university observatory either - Cloud cover is too thick. And it's now starting to drizzle. This above is the 16 inch telescope at the university.
Clouded over here too Shahbaz Saw a pink glow through the clouds just after dark. Two hours later the clouds parted to reveal a bright, clear full moon
Oh well, next total Lunar eclipse in my area will be on December 31 2028. So hopefully I'll have clear skies at that time, as it'll be winter, (allegedly winter)... Now back to designing and building an even bigger and better telescope!
