…you may say, “Too much info, just close the windows”. I’m not bonkers, I’m talking about tomato’s. Yes, the last harvest is in and we are going to pot them up. I said, “are going to”, but it happened a coupla days ago. The leeks needed doing as well, as did the parsnips. We were preserving again. …and it was all going so well until this happened: Yup, that knife went right down into my thumb. I looked down and saw the blade had gone deep. I think the only thing that prevented me from lopping-off the tip of my thumb was the nail. “Hasty speed is seldom good”, we say. In Dutch it rhymes, still it is a valid adage. Anyway, here is a gigantic pan as full as full can be with tom pulp, just simmering-away. the smaller stewer on the left has the jar tops and white plastic funnel in it as the water is on a gentle boil. We have 24 jars now, so it is good that the toms are finished. We are chuffed with our work and results. Time now to assemble data for the seed developer.
I have some of these gloves: I got them off Amazon. They are cut resistant and fit tightly without being bulky. I hope you heal up quickly.
Ouch ..that doesn't look good at all @Sjoerd ..go carefully..........must say though that the tomatoes do!!!!!! X
Customer: "Waiter, there's a finger in my spaghetti sauce. Can you explain this?" Waiter: "Hmmm... I don't know, can't seem to put my finger on it"
Annie— ahh thanks mate. That thumb is already on the mend. It does ask for attention if I bump it against something. Ouch! Those gloves look like a good thing, but they are not for use in the kitchen, are they…or, are they actually? Oreti— cheers. I will try and be more careful. There is only the Swiss chard and paprikas left to harvest and cut up. Jersey— Meaaaaaaaaaa’ hahahaha….. He couldn’t put his finger on, and yet this is the “Digital Age”.
Yes, @Sjoerd, they are meant for use in the kitchen, you know, so you come out of the kitchen with all your digits intact.
Righty-ho. What a good idea. I do most of the knife work in the kitchen and shave a layer off now and then. I shall have to think about this impressive hand cover. Somehow it makes me think of Michael Jackson. Haha.
