Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 10°C and clear.
Took the dogs to the vet yesterday. The puppy was a complete angel, her brother not so much. He was high anxiety and they ended up putting a muzzle on him. That didn't help his anxiety at all, so I'm sure this will happen every single time we go now. Ugh, never had that in all the years I had dogs.
Off to work, where its going to be a grass cutting, log splitting, trimming kinda day.
Have a great day all :)

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 11°C and clear.
Another busy day ahead, and the countdown to the weekend begins. So much to do around the house!
Not a bad problem to have Sjoerd, it sounds like you had a great garden season and will eat well at winter!
Have a great day all :)

Netty— too right I did. One of the best evvvah. I mean, we have a good season every year, but this year everything just seemed to do better than usual. I did have a bit less time because of the tom testing, but to balance that, we managed to keep on top of the weeds and other jobs throughout.
Ach, but the season is not over for some time yet.

Good Friday morning all. CUrrently 11°C and clear.
My neighbour stopped by yesterday to tell me to be careful in the mornings when I'm out with the dog because she had a bear in her backyard this week. It broke into her chicken coop and killed 2 of her chickens and was not easily scared off. I have an apple tree in my backyard so I'm a little nervous too. Then when we went for our dog walk after dinner, there was bear tracks on the road in front of my house! Yikes!
Off to work. Its payday and TGIF!
Have a great day all :)

Netty— be careful with the bears…even Blackies can be dangerous, as you know.
Other than that— enjoy your weekend.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 15°C and spitting.
I've already been out to Tim Hortons and bought a dozen doughnuts and a coffee. I don't but that often, but was really craving it today. Its amazing how many people are up early doing the same thing!
Lots to do today, and seeing the Grandkids later. It will be a fun day!
Have a great day all :)

Netty— have a great time with those doughnuts…erm, I mean the bairns. Priorities, priorities right. Silly me.

Ah well here, it is raining, sleeting and the wind is a-blowin’. That means housework. Cleaning and clothing washing. But I can tell you now, hard graft has its rewards. I shall post something later.

Tonight we will be viewing the Last Night of The Proms. A gala of classical and Broadway musical music.
    I am a happy camper.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 11°C and clear. Another beautiful day ahead with a high of 26°C expected.
Its been a crazy few days! On Sunday, our taps stopped working. This years drought is hitting this area hard with many peoples wells going dry. It was our turn on Sunday/Monday. I showered at work yesterday, and the plumber was over at our house trying to prime up our pump, which finally happened. We are being SO careful now with our water usage! This happened once before, about 12-15 years ago, and our water supply came back after a day or so. There is no rain in the forecast until at least Monday.
On the weekend, our spare car started leaking power steering fluid. Then yesterday, I went in for my routine oil change, only to be informed that I need new tires. Another expense that I wasn't expecting. Lovely. Well, that is 3 things so I guess I am safe now? Don't things always happen in 3's?
Have a great day all :)

Netty so sorry to hear wells are dry in your area. That is always a big concern here to.
In summers here our water table drops due to no rain and more usage in the agricultural zoned area. We generally need to be careful using water to water the garden. I use a watering system that counts the gallon use that help maintain water in the water holding tank. We are up higher than sea level and the well is 250-300’ deep. I can’t tell you how many times we have no water by the end of the day until the new gallon counter was added to the watering hoses. Keeps a good track of water usage from the tank. Also have an extra water tank 500 gallons above ground with a jet pump in case we need it.
