    A closer look:

This little guy blew-in this year. I believe it is a Veronica sort.
It looks so plain and friendly, so he gets to stay….for now.

Looks friendly enough @Sjoerd :D.I think it's a Linnaria ( Toad Flax) but then my record at recognising and correctly naming plants is.....:smt018

Oreti—you could be right about the name.

Thanks that you like the view— a harbour and tower with a dike. It’s pleasant.

I think it's a white Veronica too, and ditto on the view !! Glorious !!

Yes I did say I'm not brilliant at this name the plants game.:smt044 I thought at first the leaves looked too narrow to be a Veronica but having done a bit of research I'm in the middle now :D:like:

I saw, I saw. Oh good grief!!!
Oreti— so sorry. Thanks for the compliment. We have no complaints here…it’s just that there is no garden here, hence the allotment.
You have said that you are not good at names, well after this snaffoo, apparantly neither am I.

It may well be a Lineria, as the foliage is so “fine”. I do notknow.

Annie— hiya. Excuse the misnaming please. Glad you liked the view as well.

Sjoerd you’re so lucky to have such an outstanding view… :sete_013:No maintenance on a house or property. The more I look at your photo the more I think of no home repairs, landscaping, maintenance or any up keep or repair issues looks extremely inviting at this stage of my life. Mmm;)

I’m on the fence. Either or ? Linnaria or veronica…
    Let’s see…
    Historical relationship:
For a long time, both Linaria and Veronica were classified in the Scrophulariaceae family. However, modern genetic analysis revealed that their evolutionary relationships were different than previously thought, and they were moved to the Plantaginaceae family, which also contains plantains and foxgloves.

Just to confuse the issue I have Veronica as a ground cover and as a small shrub.

(Veronica peduncularis 'Georgia Blue') ground cover or trailing .

    A different form of Veronica..
    Shrubby Veronica (Veronica pinguifolia 'Pagei')

I’ll stop here... just couldn’t help myself. :nerdy:

Thank you . However the different versions of Veronica’s in the pictures posted above are growing in my garden . I’m still on the fence.
