Yes, this mild-mannered sunflower is showing its real colours. It began all lovely and innocent…the picture of garden happiness and joy— a flower that was hard to bee-t. Ah, but now it doesn’t want to leave. I am going to have to carry out a correction, cut it down to size and remove it from our volkstuin. I shall remember it’s good face. …and unceremoniously relegate this monster to the compost bin. Well, seriously though— we looked at its face yesterday and saw that the tits had been picking the seeds out. It is the time of year when the small birds stopping with little caterpillars, beetles and flies and begin eating seeds and berries from the summer’s bloomers instead. It’s the cycle. Anyhow, it was shocking and funny to look up at the face of the sunflower to see that the small birds had created this amazing pattern. We hope it will make you smile as it did us.
Annie— hahaha…now that’s a good one. My tits need training, they can do better. I will give them points on the diabolical eyes though.
We ALL know what they are, and they are very pretty. Love looking at them and petting them...they smell nice...whats not to like I don't know if Annie has them there... maybe she could show us them
