First of all, I apologize for the stupidest of all names for this cyclone, "Shakti" - It was India's turn to name it. So in their language it I think means strength. Whenever there's a cyclone that's about to hit Pakistan, and if it's India's turn to name it - They give it such terrible names, as it's kind of like wishing us bad. Which outsiders won't understand, but it's a long standing joke between the 2 hostile countries. Because we do the same when it's our turn... Anyway, from what I can see right now, is that it might hit the coast of Oman soon. So Karachi is safe. Which is very disappointing for me, as I needed to test a few of my inventions under extreme conditions... I doubt if we have any members from Oman. But whatever information anybody has, please share it here.
If I tell what I've invented, someone else might copy it - Than shamelessly take credit for it... So not going to let that happen to me (again).
I was hoping our Hurricane Imelda would keep travelling north along the coast and come far enough to give me some rain. Instead it turned northeast, just as humberto did and I didn't get nary a drop of rain. It's over 6weeks without rain here. Maybe it will change course and you'll get lucky.
I am in the blue circle (Karachi city). And cyclone Shakti is in the red circle. Currently off the coast of Oman.
Looks like it's diminishing, at the coast of Oman, (another headache for the Kingdom). But tropical cyclones can be very deceptive. As sometimes they rest during the night. Only to wake up with more force after sunrise...
Thanks, but I think it's over, (looks like it's all completely broken up). So this cyclone too is now history.
And I thought this cyclone was dead... But I guess not. As it's regaining strength, and now moving back towards me - It's done this a week ago also, where it looked it was dispersed off the coast of Karachi. But apparently not. And now it's done it again, this time off the coast of Oman - Is my ocean now suddenly become a giant pinball machine??? If I didn't know any better, I'd say that this cyclone had seen TopGun Maverick far too many times. So just like Tom Cruise in the movie, cyclone Shakti too now just refuses to die...
That's how it goes.!! Weather is only somewhat predictable and the closer to the coast the more heat there is in the water so they can rebuild from that.
My Arabian Sea seems to have become something like a pinball machine. Sometimes the cyclone is going to India, next to Pakistan, and finally to Oman - But seems to be missing Pakistani hospitality, so is thinking about coming back to Karachi.
