Thank you Pac , we do consider ourselves very fortunate to live where we do and really appreciate waking up each day to look out over the beautiful fields and trees. We have a big lake ( once the old quarry) opposite our house which is surrounded by woodlands, I would really love to walk up there but am a bit ...over cautious....maybe...?, as the ground is so uneven and fairly steep in places. I might set myself the challenge of doing so over the weekend, but wouldn't walk all the way around the water. We'll see, if I do I will snap a few pics as I really do thing it's a very beautiful and tranquil place that not many people seem to know about luckily.
Autumn sky at dusk. Dusk autumn cloud color. Just a close up. Leaf colors get brighter each day . A view to the valley behind the trees in the background.
Well I made it through the trees and to 'our' lakes.. I'm very proud and protective of them as thankfully not many people know about them or visit them apart from us 'locals'. Our house through the trees! ....and heading back home... I challenged myself to do this walk ,a few pics my hubs had to take as the ground's unevenness was to risky for me to attempt negotiating. ....but YAY I did the majority of the walk.
How Cool.!! A short walk through the wood on a well travelled path to a hidden lake !! You could write a book about that.
Beautiful pics of your woods and lovely fall scenery. These pics you posted are what make the fall season so special. I agree… what’s not to love . Everything fall is meant to be from colorful mushrooms to tree leaf color and a lake with water lilies.
Thanks @Jersey Devil ,@Anniekay and @Pacnorwest . I know I keep trying to persuade hubs to move and downsize but deep down I know it would be heartbreaking to leave this beautiful area. The 'lakes' are really redundant old clay quarry pits that were closed about 100 years ago. The whole area boasts some lovely clay...(if your hobby is pottery...brilliant ) as does our garden!!
Very, very good postings Oreti and Pac. In fact, they were better than good. There were starkly beautiful ones and also some very interesting ones. Tja! What’s not to like. The leaves are reluctantly beginning to turn and the fungi are appearing here and there. Oreti mind how you go with those mushrooms, won’t you.
My soybeans all beaned up. An Abelia almost finished flowering and gone to seed. But you won't believe this. My spring flowering bulbs are coming up in mid October !!
