The on-going joke was always, "What was it, the white nights sat in?"

I'm watching the recording I made of Sky's, "Classic Movies."
The subject is Hitchcock's "The 39 Steps."
There's three people, explaining the plot, the way Hitchcock worked etc. and we're shown clips of the film.

Sometimes you can't get away from background music in such programmes and this had some, quietly playing while they were talking. Usually it's nondescript and unrecognisable, but not in this case, but it took me a while to work out what it was.
They were discussing the romantic interest in the plot at length.
So I guess it was a good choice.
It was an orchestral version of this, I have on a CD of Jo Stafford.
    I've always loved the tune.

I have this David Gates single on a 45 in one of my jukeboxes, playing it today prompted me to comment on it.

Over a decade ago, there was a long-running series on TV called "Cold Case."
They used a contemporary single as the close out music for every episode. There were over a hundred of them.
A "cult" developed amongst many subscribers to YouTube, to record and post clips of the different endings. Some are still extremely popular.
This one, uploaded seventeen years ago)has had over 511,000 hits with over 500 comments. It was my favourite episode about the death of a trans teenager.
I commented on it 13 years ago, but comments still keep coming.
Some could bring a tear to your eye.

    "The High and the Mighty."

I remember this film from my teens. It was shown on one of the digital channels tonight.
I didn't bother to watch it, as I didn't think much of it first time round, but it did have unforgettable theme music.

I've not had much time to play my electric piano recently, "and you have to be in the mood." But today I played and recorded my favourite Hoagy Carmichael tune.
It's been recorded by, "the world and his wife," my favourite version is by Dick Haymes.

But this is mine with some jazz chords.
