When not attending to garden tasks what other things have filled your day?

We had our 3ft Christmas tree come today, it's lovely.
Hubby is getting as bad as me.
Before you know it, it's right in front of you, so i start early, I'll put them up the last week in November to turn on the 1st of December, it should take me a week to do it.

Our dog walker sent this pic of River out on their walk, the Redditch Dog Walking always does this for their clients and at Christmas.

After next Tuesday I'll be doing all of the walks.

I remember my mother giving me 2¢ to buy her a stamp. I was 4 I believe, just tall enough to push the button on the crosswalk signal. I was so short that I had to step back from the counter at the Post Office in order to see the lady. I told her I wanted a stamp and reached up to put my two pennies on the edge of the counter.
She told me that I needed one more penny because the price went up to 3¢. So, I went outside and looked around in the dirt around the curb until I found one.

 

One of the biggest increases in prices, of which I'm aware, is the cost to join Ronnie Scott's jazz club in London. It's £425 a year, plus discounted entrance fees.

In 1959, at the ages of nineteen, my future wife and I moved into a flat above a milk bar in Soho. Ronnie's first club was about a hundred yards away, which we joined when it opened and we were often in there on weekdays, as on those days, it was free admission for members (and warmer than our flat).

I paid 7/6d (that's 38p) each, for our year's membership.

 

Finally sorted out the "rogue" Tesco £24 debit on my Barclaycard.
I could see from just the entry it was an on-line payment. I've never bought anything on-line from Tesco.
Checked my account today, (although I've a replacement card coming with a new number, I can still access my account with the old number). I can see a credit has been raised to match the debit.
This involved talking to three different people on the phone yesterday, none of whom I'm certain were in this country. What's the World coming too?

 

Contents of my e-mail to Specsavers this morning.

On 20th October an arranged visit for my wife, who is housebound, was made to have her eyes tested and for her to be able to select some frames for new glasses.
We were very pleased with the service and it was explained, that when the glasses were ready, the team would return with them to ensure they were correct and fitted properly.

For this I was charged £310.

I had no problems with that, given the two pairs of glasses had to be made plus the cost of two visits, to ensure a satisfactory job was done.

This morning we had a phone call from someone at Specsavers, to say that they were unable to return with the glasses and that instead they would "stick them in the post."

Needless to say, I'm not impressed.

The "reality" is far from what I expected after seeing your TV advert.

 

That's not good practice at all @Doghouse Riley , be firm and insist on the final fitting check visit. I had to have a pair readjust at this late stage of the procedure once. So important that they perfectly match your requirements.
