Hmmm.....I hate knives, they make me shudder with fear. All we hear about is horrendous knife attacks that are totally unprovoked. lately. I even had a nightmare the other night that one of our brood had be badly attacked. I woke up shaking!!
What's wrong with people these days.:(

11 year olds are taking knives to school, schools might have to have metal detectors at the schools, that's worrying.

Update on our smart meter, we have a home mini that sends the readings to Hubby's phone app, we still know the individual electric appliance usage.

Nowadays there are hardened plastic knives too, easily available all over the internet. Which effortlessly pass through all metal detectors - Which is exactly their selling point.

Are they as good or as durable and long lasting as a metal knife? No, not really. But when it comes to attacking, they will still cut and kill just the same.

And than there are sharpened glass knives too. Which people make themselves, that are good for one time use. But devastating if it stabbed any vital organ or cut an artery - These too easily pass through all metal detectors. With these there is the added option to break it once stabbed in. Resulting in even more injury.

In my opinion, no matter what anyone tries to ban knives. People will still find a way around it. Like these plastic and glass knives which can easily pass through metal detectors everywhere.

It's like prostitution, which is the oldest profession of humanity, followed by thievery - Which society has tried to eradicate since forever. Yet has failed miserably. Proof of which is that even in the holiest of places on Earth, these problems still exist. They shouldn't, yet they do... Like Thievery in Macca & Madina cities of Saudi Arabia, and prostitution in the Vatican City still happening - It really shouldn't be, yet it does. Which is shameful. As it shows the ugly side of human civilization, which nobody really wants to see.

The real answer is, sadly, that as time goes by, people are feeling more and more insecure. While others are becoming more and more desperate...

I remember a time during my very early childhood, (late 70s and beginning of the 80s), when we would go to the supermarket. And we wouldn't bother locking the car, nor roll up the windows, (or else the car would get too hot in the sun)... After half an hour or so when we would return back, everything was exactly like we had left it. Untouched by anyone. And we weren't alone in this, as all other people too were doing the same thing with their cars. As nobody really cared. Some even had stuff inside from other places the owner was shopping at. Again, nothing happened to it.

Just try leaving your car unlocked and windows rolled down in a city like Karachi now - And see what happens in 5 minutes!

So as long as some people become more desperate, and in doing so resort to thievery. Other normal people in society will start to feel threatened. Which is how our society gets ruined. After which it's all going down in a nosedive, spinning in an unrecoverable spiral.

Authorities everywhere will do the easy thing, like putting up metal detectors everywhere, simply because they are all lazy - Like how all cops everywhere aren't actually there to serve and protect us. But instead just exist to keep doughnut shops in business, (over here in my part of the world it's samosa shops).

So until the core issues aren't addressed with a dedicated intention to fixing the problem from the root - People who are desperate, as well as people who feet threatened and let down by figures in authority - Everyone will resort to having some type of a weapon with them for protection at all times. As well as find ingenious ways of concealment too. So their weapons can avoid detection. Thieves will do it as they don't want to give up their advantage. While people like me will have weapons, simply because we don't want to become victims. Or at least not give up without a fight, as that'll be the ultimate shame.

And since hardly anyone is properly trained to handle weapons, (neither physically nor mentally) - Means that the chances of accidents too is today at an all time high. And it's not going to get any better, only worse as time goes by...

For me, making weapons is more of an expression of art then anything serious. But that doesn't mean that I'm unaware of the other issues which are also at work in our modern society.

Out for the day. Walked through the main city park which glowed in the sunshine and sparkled from the raindrops from the early morning drizzle. Had a nice lunch and then visited my brother in the afternoon. Very enjoyable day.:)

I adore the sun shining on the rain drops in trees. The rain drops look like rhinestones sparkling thruout the landscape. I can never get a pic of the reflection of this beautiful display of rhinestones hanging from the trees on a bright sunny afternoon after a rain.

It’s the small things that really shine once we notice the real beauty of the day.

Agree Pac raindrops are hard to capture in their true beauty unless a real close up is snapped. I didn't even bother to rummage for my phone to attempt taking any pics as I knew they wouldn't portray the real images that my eyes were witnessing.

Not too sure yet of what the plans for today are, hopefully it remains dry. This morning I'm heading out to have some blood tests done. We might travel from there into the city again and have some lunch. It will otherwise be 4.5 mile walk in total to the Plebotomy Clinic but we can catch a bus from there into the city........and give my knee a reprieve as it's not really liking all the dampness that's in the air at present. Hmmm we will see how I feel once the bloods are taken.

Oreti sorry your joints complaining more in damp cold weather while your generating long walks to keep mobile. I wondered the same thing. Some people feel the dampness and cold signaling it’s time for a joint discomfort winter meaning time to get out those Velcro joint wraps.

Research still hasn't confirmed a cause-and-effect link between weather and joint pain, though many people insist they can predict the weather based on such aches. It's believed that changes in barometric pressure which happen as weather systems change trigger these discomforts and stiffness in joints. Less air pressure surrounding the body can allow muscles, tendons, and other tissues around joints to expand. This can place pressure on joints, leading to pain. In some cases I have experienced a hyaluronic joint injection helps. It acts as a lubricant which can help ease serious pain also has a numbing solution added to the joint area. Can offer relief for a few weeks. This can help turn special needs to a strength adding stronger balance and build confidence.

Today with joints in warm wraps I’m up on the flat section of the roof clearing moss / pine needles and spraying areas on the tiles with bleach & repairing a small leak into guest bdrm in flat roof section by the scupper / down spout drain.
