Netty you got this :smt023 I hope the first snow fall of the season is gentle. Lots of preparation has been done to keep warm , happy and access to the roads. It’s not easy but your determination to a well managed home and roads is priceless. You are strong & unstoppable.:setf_016:

Your puppy’s first snow is always something to watch , their reaction deserves some pics.

Good Monday morning all. Currently -5°C and overcast.
We did get our first dump of snow yesterday, but it wasn't as bad as we expected. Even so, people forget how to drive and there are always multiple accidents. I was out driving in the snow with a friend and we managed just fine. When I got home, the extra coffee I drank kicked in and I was busy in the kitchen cooking and washing dishes. Today I hope to go see the grandkids before going to the rink tonight.
Have a great day all :)

Oh happy day! I have been asked to do some cooking for hot Thanksgiving dinners for the Meals on Wheels. The MoW usually cooks and delivers, but with Thanksgiving being so special they just don't have enough ovens or hands. I am so looking forward to it! Perhaps if I do well enough I'll be asked to help at Christmas :setc_083:.
We had our first frost last night--just a light one and patchy (take that, Netty, you with your snow!). With the "weather forecasters" going nuts about the freeze, we cut the last of the blooming zinnias and made a bouquet. Our roses were between blooming cycles so there were no roses to harvest.
Have a good day all, and I hope you get a fun and rewarding something to look forward to!

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently -1°C and snowing.
Yesterday I put the flannel sheets on my bed and added more blankets. Today I slept in and just didn't want to leave my cozy bed haha
A few things to do around the house today, and then off to the rink tonight. Already dreaming of getting back into my cozy bed!
Have a great day all :)

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 2°C and raining. Its been a wet few weeks now, with rain, then snow, and now rain again. I think our well should be good now.
Yesterday I scratched a ton of things off my 'to do' list, and it felt good. Also renegotiated my phone/tv/internet home package to save some money and ordered a new cellphone. Mine was on its last legs and this new one should arrive in the next day or two. Also ordered a new Otter Box case and holster to keep it safe.
Today, I'm back on my winter routine and headed into town to pick up groceries and run some errands.
Have a great day all :)

Good Friday morning all. Currently 3°C and overcast.
I stepped outside my comfort zone yesterday, and trailered my ATV by myself for a trail ride. It was the first time I've ever moved anything on a trailer by myself, and I was feeling quite accomplished on my return home. Next time I'll feel more confident and will go a little bit farther, but hopefully with a friend,
Today I'll just be sticking around the house/yard and hopefully getting more things scratched off my 'to do' list.
Have a great day all :)

Tai chi classes are going OK. I think I am breathing a little better and my balance is slightly better. The catch is, it's nearly an hour drive each way to the classes. Country life...

I took four boxes of canning jars to Good Will. That helps a bit with decluttering the pantry.

I'm gradually getting the storage room organized and decluttered. It's already a lot better.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently -1°C and overcast. There is rain in the forecast again today. I'm not going to complain because we are still suffering from the effects of the summer drought, but it sure would be nice to see some sunshine for a change.
I'm up bright and early and ready to be at the rink for my daughters 7:30 lesson. She's working on her very last gold test, and once she has that tested she will be a quad gold skater. That's quite an accomplishment, and I'm so proud of all her hard work. Today I also get to watch 2 of my grandkids learning to skate while my daughter helps teach the class.
After that, I'm not sure what the day will bring, but I'm sure it will be a great day :)

Happy Saturday everyone. We woke up to a light dusting of snow this morning. It is always so pretty. Yesterday was a long town day with us both getting our latest vaccines for the fall.

I'm enjoying a cup of tea, and visiting the Stew this morning. And then hopefully exploring some more seed catalogues.

It's been a busy couple of weeks. Last week our hot water tank sprang a leak. It was quite old, so I had a water leak sensor in the laundry room. We were alerted right away and thankfully we were home and indoors. A quick fill up of all of our drinking water four litre jugs happened, and then the water was shut off. It has been a "marathon", not a "sprint" of repairs, as pre-winter outside chores had to be done as well. There was also an impending repair on the laundry room sink taps, and the outdoor tap in the same room, so everything was pulled out to do all at the same time. All new Pex water pipes were put in under the crawl space and to the laundry room.

A new tank was ordered ( ....a propane water tank was $2500.UGH). Thank goodness Hubby knows how to do all of the repairs himself. I was the painter, flunky, little hands and the good knees of the outfit. :) The remaining parts of taps, joins, Pex etc has brought it up to a costly buy necessary repair job.

Hubby organized the plumbing so that we had cold water to the kitchen tap while the repairs were done. It's been ten days, and we are finally to the point of putting the washer and dryer back in. We were taking care of outside chores As well as positioning the new hot water tank. There won't be any hot water until maybe tomorrow or the next day.

I have a portable rechargeable shower with a little pump that has kept us in shower land. And the big kettle I use for canning has kept us in hot water. And of course an outhouse hahaha

I'm ready to stop camping now though, and I'm looking forward to some amenities again.:)
