. I got my first catalogue and it's from one of my favorite companies: BAKER CREEK !! I need tomato seed and like trying varieties that I've never tried before. I picked out these two: Top 1) Wooly Kate Yellow...it has a peach fruzzcoating !! can't wait to try that one. 2-3" across 2nd one) Chocolate Miracle smoky, savory, chocolate undertones. What catalogues are you getting this year??
Hiya Annie— what a timeing!! Ours just came in yesterday. ..annnnnnnnd, we got not one, but TWO ! Our gardening club has an agreement with a couple of places and get the seeds at a reduced price. The way it works is that all the members send in their orders to the club’s administration, they bundle the orders and send them off to the seed companies, getting the reduced prices. it works out well because there are things other than seeds in those catalogi. I will say though that in the past we would order from T&M every year and call now and then. However, when Britain stepped out of the EU that stopped because the import taxes that we had to then pay was prohibitive. We were sad.
Wow @Sjoerd what a wonderful idea to group all the participant's orders for bulk pricing !! Genius !! I would love to be able to order seed from across the pond, especially seed from semi tropical climates to see how they would grow here. Like you say, the import taxes would make it cost prohibitive to do so. @Zigs Please be sure to post your Catalogues. I love seeing them.
Annie— now look what you’ve gone and done—my Bride has begun looking through and marking the candidates. She said that when she’s done…I could look as well. Hahaha. Yes please.
That's teamwork !! She picks out her favorites, you pick out your favorites and then you go from there. I live alone so I get it all my way !!
As the “great Dutch philosopher” once said, “Elk nadeel heb zijn voordeel”. Poor Dutch, but you get the idea, right?
Of course !! I love languages but I doubt I would ever suceed in spelling Dutch correctly !! Too many double vowels.
I don't get proper seed catalogues anymore it's all online, but i order from DT brown and Mr. Fothergills for seeds and plants.
