@Daniel W , that is awful that you had to bury that poor deer. I know I did much of our ditch digging last spring and early summer, but I took my jolly old time and still have very sore shoulders at times. (Hot showers and the heating pad help.) I would never be able to dig a hole big enough for an adult deer. I even have my son help if one of our dogs die. I guess I would have to ask my neighbor with a tractor to come dig such a big hole... I do have a dry-ish lagoon in the woods from when my Mother had her mobil home here, it could maybe be dragged to that. If anything happens to Horsey, I would have to have her put in that. I suppose a dead deer could be dragged by my neighbor's tractor off into our woods. That is where they normally die, except when hit by vehicles.

DS is still working on filling that ditch back in when he is here. It is about 1/3 filled back in so far. My shoulders just won't let me do much of it now. He has replaced about 2/3 of the drain pipe so far. We have more pipe, but there are several dead trees at the end of the line that need removed. Their roots are in the way.

We had about 1/2 inch of snow overnight, but the sun came out later in the morning and it all melted off. I did not do much except clean up after the dogs. It was about 30 today. Supposedly, it will get into the 40s and I will get out when it warms up into the 40s and do more raking.

Guess what? It's raining. So nothing will be done in the garden today, but there's household chores to be done and some shopping.

I picked another purple radish. There's not much else to do in this off and on drizzle we are having.
