Time for a “this ‘n that” day, but we will begin with reading the newspapers and doing some puzzels in the New York Times, and a Dutch puzzle site. Upon successfully completing the puzzels (or not), we are suitably irritated and can begin our day. Window washing, dusting and hoovering. After all the fun, we settled down to order seeds and potatos. The order list has to be in to the gardening club admin folks by the 17th, so we thought we ought to get our skates on. We first hauled-out our seed box to inventory what would need for the coming season. Then it was time to go through the catalogue and top-off what was needed. It is sometimes difficult to remain focused when flipping through the pages of the catalogue— an old and recurring problem, that. Well then…why not put up some Christmas decs then. — A couple of simple wire-formed “trees” , a welcome light that is loosing electrical connection to its lights one-by-one. A hand full of small things to place here and there. One, two, three and klaar is Cees, or you could say, “Bob’s yer uncle”! here is one of the “trees” situated in a window in the multi-mediakamer. Merry Christmas, everyone.
Dark days here too Sjoerd so I've been tidying up and doing indoors jobs like setting up the hi fi that a friend gave me (can't get the tape deck to work ) Got the radio tuned in to Radio Caroline Finished building the fireplace around the woodburner and tested it. Nice and warm We did get out to the farm shop though Happy Christmas everyone
Back at ya Sjoerd and Ziggs.. And foreword Holiday Blessings to all Stewbies. Today is: National Christmas Card Day & Wearie Willie Day Season's Greetings & Simple Acts of kindness.
Nice cozy notes, all. Similar to here. The pineapple express flooded the roads here, so no unnecessary travel today. It's only drizzling now, so Rufus might walk me in a bit. Started another veteran quilt. Got most of the pieces cut, then realized I didn't pre- wash one of the dark blue fabrics. That is needed so the excess dye doesn't stain lighter fabrics. So it's soaking now. If dry by tomorrow, I might cut it. If too "floppy" I will want to starch it first. This week I took another load of food, mostly high protein canned goods and dry beans, to the Food bank. Also dry milk and big bags of dog food and cat food that they divide into smaller bags so they go further. Not buying Christmas gifts for myself and others but did package up various ancestor photos and ephemera (WW2 ration card books, letters, other items) and mailed to cousins. Sent cards to neighbors and friends. Merry Christmas everyone
