Zigs do you have a city named Portland or do you mean the isle of Portland. Hehe I had to look that up…

anmiekay i don’t live in Portland it’s the biggest city near by. Our town has some homes with lights and decorations but nothing in the 3 block area on our little downtown. Which has one fire station, 3 bars, one church, one small grocery store, auto repair and a few trailor food shops and that’s pretty much it.

    Fantastic pics Pac......so beautiful!!

I love seeing the outdoor Christmas lights/ displays in the nearby towns and cities. We're currently enjoying visiting all the nearby displays. They are quite stunning.

I can't stand indoor decorations though....makes me feel suffocated. So glad not to have to put any up anymore. When our brood were young we did have them up......but they were soon taken down after the big day.

One street in our nearest housing estate is quite famous, locally, for it display of lights .They raise alot of money for charities each year.

Nothing special happening here in my area. Everything is ordinary. So @Pacnorwest wins!

We don't really walk about or head into the towns and local cities in the evenings when it's dark Pac ( transport from out our way ends a 6pm!!!). I've attempted to try and capture some at around 4pm
but in the actual photos they don't look as good as they are to the naked eye.....it, unfortunately, really needs to be quite dark.

Isle of Portland, but it's actually attached to the mainland by the Chesil beach. Folk there have kept themselves to themselves for a long time. They look very similar :worried:

I went out this evening to take a picture of the city lights in Womenswold :)

I thought the Portland info was from the internet by the bullet points in the text. The internet is always a place to find info. Still I find it interesting how many other cities have the same name. I only knew of a couple, never realized there were so many. :nerdy:
