@Daniel W How you doing considering a few residents are land-locked for another few days from non-stop rain?[/QUOTE]
    Doing fine thanks @Pacnorwest!

I went to the final Tai Chi class of the season. Regretted it because I was an ious the entire time about returning home. There are only 2 roads to my place. One was flooded (not too deep but still...) and the other was next to a flooded field. Fortunately the water did bot breach that roadside, so I was able to get home.

I think the water has receded but not sure. Fortunately we have power.

Not much going in the garden except chicken and duck care. Five eggs yesterday, three the day before.

My friend was here today to work on the riding mowers. Unfortunately, the freebie one for parts does not fit my mower that needs a new/other deck. Only a few small parts and the tires are usuable for my rider. My friend will try to find a used deck that is not rusted out for it. When I last checked the price for another deck, it was about 1/2 the original purchase price for my rider. My friend said it is now the full price that I paid for that rider.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: And the freebie one for parts has a busted back axle, that would also be very expensive to fix.

My mower does run okay, I guess if the deck is off, I can use it get around my neighborhood.

Nothing today......off out to visit friends and then going out for lunch. It's very damp underfoot and we have thick fog here today anyway, so it wouldn't have be an ideal day for gardening .

Daniel Glad to hear your ok. This has started out to be a super wet winter. You have a lot to look after . Ducks and chickens too. We lost internet again last nite. My iPhone is connecting ok until the internet is back on.
Have same issues getting up and down the road here. The roads are washed out today. Hoping they will be better later.

I just finished planting more Spinach seeds because a lot of the first batch didn't germinate. Then more purple radishes which I only planted a few to begin with because I didn't know how they would taste, but they're the best. Then some of my fava beans didn't germinate so I planted more snow peas in their place. That was all for today.

Are you planting inside or outside?

I spent most of the day cleaning up Douglas fir tree limbs, sizes ranged from 10” to 12’ off everything that doesn’t move. Last nights hurricane strength wind storm has cleaned out all the loose dead branches, needles and debris out of all the trees. Looking on the bright side I’m counting on the tonights storm to blow all the debris off the roof and driveway down the road.

It stays almost frost free here. I plant almost all my cool season vegetables outside in the raised beds. If it's going to frost I cover things up for those nights.

Hurricane force winds ? Your area is really getting hit this wonter !!

@Sjoerd yes it's quite amazing, their house is in a sheltered position and they are the only ones in their road that have such a cheery Christmas garden.

That's a redeeming feature about strong winds isn't Pac.....the only one!
I'm hoping that yesterday 's and today's huffing and puffing will lend a helpful hand at gathering up the recent dumping of more leaves and removing some of the muck our builder friend loosen up on our back roof when he was checking/ securing the dislodged tiles last week.:fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

Ohh. hope your roof tiles were not leaking. This time of year is always tricky with extreme weather and storms here lately. The US is really getting slammed across the entire US. We have been hit with hurricane force winds and flooding. Still have no internet so many without power in the PNW and no internet from the last storm. It’s a terrible situation. Today’s storm raining sideways . I am lucky to have cleaned my concrete tile roof in November or I’m sure I would have had many roof issues. The tiles collect moss, lichen and pine needle so fast it was so thick . It causes a lot of problems. The whole cleaning was a lot of work due to the past couple of years no time for roof maintenance. I was my DH caretaker rather than a nursing home, that was a full time job.

Nothing today and yesterday it was only 6c and rained most of the day. Totally the wrong weather for gardening, so as usual, on a Wednesday, I played golf!

I need a couple of dry days to clear a few leaves.
