Good Monday morning all. Currently -9°C and clear.
I was up early, and I've already had the dog out, done my workout, wrapped a gift and made coffee. Now its time to drink it while 'stewing' and then get to work cleaning up this place!
My son should be home from Vegas any time now, and I'm sure he will be full of stories.
Just a few more days until Christmas, gosh that came quickly!
Have a great day all :)

Before I disappear into Christmas, I want to wish you all Happy Holidays!
It doesn't look or feel very "wintery" with sunshine and temperatures in the 70's. But, we don't have to shovel snow! Did enough of that when we lived up north!
Hope all goes well for your holidays.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently -11°C and clear.
We had a snowstorm again yesterday, and the winds were crazy. I went out and plowed mid storm to try and keep the driveway manageable so I hope its not too bad this morning. Thunder and I will take care of that after our morning walk. I bought lottery tickets online yesterday due to the storm because I didn't want a to miss out on the chance of winning $80 million. There was a 'Congratulations you are a winner' email in my inbox this morning and my heart skipped a beat, I thought I was a big winner! Turns out I won $20 and a free ticket. Thats better than nothing, so I'll invest it back in for the next draw which will be $80+ million. Sure would have been nice ...

Clay your getting out the snow equipment today? Winter can be a challenge. Stay safe and be careful if out and about.

Good Monday morning all. Currently 3°C and overcast. We had another ice storm yesterday, but thankfullly the temperatures rose before the buildup of ice got too bad. Then it rained, and later we are going to get strong winds and snow squalls. We've had 3 seasons in the last 12 hours!
Today I have an appointment at the bank, and then a quick trip to the grocery store to get some ingredients for some home made ice cream. DD got an icecream maker for Christmas and we have been dying to try it out! Hopefully I'll be back home before the snow squalls start.
Have a great day all :)

Netty— oh, I haven’t done that for donkey’s years, since I was a child actually. You know, it was so long ago that we would go down to the coal seller to pick up a rectangular block of ice, which we would chip with a pick. Then everyone would take a turn at cranking the crank. My grand parents would periodically sprinkle some salt over the ice chips.

Have a good time with making your ice cream.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -14°C , windy and overcast. It was a horrible night, with gale force winds and snow. Weatherman says we will get more snow later today and then again tomorrow. I've been able to keep up with the snow in the driveway so far, but after that rain event the other night my driveway has turned into a giant sheet of ice. I'm going to reach out to a friend that has a snow removal business and see if they can come and sand the driveway for me. Its so dangerous the way it is!
Today I'll be working on some skating financials and then continuing on my year end house cleanout.
Yesterday we made some strawberry ice cream. It was delicious!
Have a great day all :)

Slippery icy driveways is defiantly a winter hazard. Hope it’s fixed soon for safe passage. Been there done that . One winter the icy weather caused a tree to fall across the driveway. The whole tree was frozen literally to the driveway. There was no getting it off the driveway until the weather warmed. We drove thru the pasture to get out to town.

The year end financials for skating? Classes ?

What type of icecream maker? I was gifted one that doesn’t need ice. It’s so easy peasy just flip the button and in a few minutes it’s a yummy treat. :)

Sending blessings to you and your family for a wonderful 2026. :smt109:setc_083::setc_084: Cheers.

Good Friday morning all, and Happy New Year!
Its been a busy few days around here. We've had snow storms, ice storms, New Years Eve and then yesterday we finally finished off our family Christmas. The grand kids had been taking turns being sick since before Christmas, and then their parents got it, and yesterday they were all well enough to come over for Christmas. It was lovely, I treasure those moments, but today I got up bright and early and took down the tree and all the decorations. DD might be a little upset when she gets up because she loves to sit by the lit tree, but it was time. I'm being very superstitious this year and wanted all of last year to be cleaned up. I'll feel better today once I get to vaccuum and do the laundry. Its still only 6:30 am so I'll be nice and wait until 8 to make noise with the vaccuum. Sunrise isn't until 7:42 today, so its still a while before I can walk the dog.
Pacnor I am the Treasurer for my daughters figure skating club. Keeps me out of trouble ;)
Have a great day all :)

Netty— I can sympathise with your daughter. I am always so torn between typing it all up and hanging on until “Three Kings”, the usual date to remove all the season’s trappings.
