I don't know what they will be like. This is my first try growing them. I'm growing them for a friend. They have bush and vine types. I got bush.

    Thanks Zigs.
The order confirmation finally came through but I will keep watching on the bank app.

It's an old and respected, big, seed firm. But - their site is pretty annoying with popups and the trackers. There are lots of other choices choices out there, time for me to say goodby.

You always have a great garden !!

I had looked into the drip watering system like you have for your raised beds. I hadn't decided to do it but, my gardening friend told me that she set a system up like yours and after using it for one year all her emitters were clogged with calcium deposits and the lines were coated in it too. So I guess that wouldn't work here. We have acid soil but very limey water.

It's a challenge for me. My emitters last one to two years. Iron deposits rather than lime. I have two filters before water gies into the lines, but there is still clogging. That's why I have to troubleshoot so much. I also don't like using so much plastic.

Still, it's better for me than hand watering. Mostly, I get it working before dry season starts, and it's good at least until fall.

I have a German made lawn sprinkler a Gardena with a 5year manufacturers warrenty. I set it on top of a 5 gallon bucket and can water half the raised beds with it, then move it over and do the other half. I have been using that all over the garden as well. I have only 22 lbs of pressure so, Two hours of watering gets me 1 1/2" on the beds. Much easier than hand watering.

I buy mostly German tools. I have the Wolf rakes and they use one handle with different attachments.

They aren't cheap but they're light weight and they're made to last. I have two different rakes and the trowel. I can stand up and dig holes for transplants, instead of constantly bending over.

Good idea Annie sounds like a good solution for small areas. I just use soaker hoses in different garden zones on timers , waters automatically at night also programmed on computer or iPhone. Can water when outta town.

I can't do the soaker hoses, wish I could !! The lime clogs them up as well. :(

There are filters available to keep hoses unclogged. And important to not mix brass fittings with silver, they will fuse together and clog hoses. I have included filters on my hoses because the well water contains lots of minerals and debrie in the wells and holding tanks. And the occasional tree roots that seep inside the seams of the holding tanks I remove by hand. I need to scoop roots out occasionally there’s no filter for that. I use a pool or pond net to fish out tangled roots .
For garden hoses, I use filters that have inline calcium polyphosphates that coat minerals or sediment from well water/hard water/city water that is attached between the spigot and the hoses. Available at big box stores.

Today I pruned the two container roses.

Then I went to work on the 25 year old Liberty apple tree. It was meant to be a mini dwarf. It outgrew its rootstock and now is tall enough to prevent deer damage. I have to reach high to prune. It looks like a Dr. Seuss tree now.

It bears more than enough apples, and they are very tasty.

I used this pruner. I am very careful. If it can cut instantly through an inch thick branch, it can instantly cut off a finger. Ouch!

I also have a guardian to keep me safe from squirrels.

Nothing today, as it's far too cold. It will be dry for the next few days. The temperatures are not expected to rise above freezing, before Tuesday, when rain is forecast.
