If you're (like me) feeling down, see little hope in the future. Or are just dissatisfied with how things are going right now - Than here in this thread we'll only be positive and ultra optimistic!

Be it something you've read that's uplifting, or anything AI generated, (doesn't matter if it's made by you or anyone else on the web or YouTube). It could even be a song or a piece of music - If it's making you feel good, post it here so everyone can enjoy!

Because frankly speaking, I'm seriously done with all the negativity...

This is all real, not AI generated. And since this is a feel good thread, I'm posting it here.

This is the Chinese Space Station that's orbiting Earth. The so called "international" Space Station (ISS) isn't the only game in town. Humanity has another one up there.

And this is their Lunar Program.

In the field of robotics now! Right now militaries worldwide are pushing forward with these concepts. But as with everything else, sooner or later it will all trickle down to civilians. So imagine a gardener robot, who will always be talking the best possible care of a garden. Or an orchard, picking all the fruits, probably in space.

Of course everything that's feel good, also includes stuff that's been inspiring us since early childhood. Making the imagination tickle, as a result of which many innovations in the world got created - So this is where Star Trek is second to none!

From inspiring kids like me in the 80s, to take a telescope and point it at the stars. To opening the Atlas. As well as taking the time to learn navigation as a child, and later orbital mechanics - Star Trek is literally responsible for millions of people, to become scientists and engineers.

However the main reason why Star Trek holds a special place for me in my heart, (and I'm sure I speak for many) - Is that even when things were hopeless, and you saw nothing positive anywhere. There still now is a glimmer of optimism deep in the back of our minds. That so what if the environment is getting ruined. It'll all get reversed one day, as technology will progress. Because they finally now had a near perfect would in Star Trek. So one day we will progress to that level also.

Again, I'm a kid of the 80s, so I have witnessed the transition from one way of life. Where people actually use to write letters by hand and used the post office to send that envelope anywhere in the world - To what we have now, right in the palms of out hands. And today assisted by AI. We literally are almost halfway there already! So this, genuinely feels very good indeed!!!

So these are some memorable moments from the Star Trek universe.

How the future might be like one day.
If yes, than it's going to be a blast!

I'm been waiting, since 1962, for my flying car !!

I was sure, back then, that by the time I was old enough to drive, my first car would be a flying one, but nooooooo !! Still toodling along on pavement !! :(

And I was sure, back in the early 80s, (when I was a tiny fellow), that by 2020 I would be owning real estate on the Moon, as well as be a regular visitor to Mars. As it's in the way to mining the Astroid Belt - None of which happened, while I even made career choices in that direction...

    :headscratch:

However, I still believe that now it's going to happen, and sooner than we think. Because humanity wasn't exactly standing still, (although it sure felt like it at times) - We did make unimaginable progress, and are now finally at a stage where the critical technologies that we didn't have to make this dream come true. Can now be seem on the horizon.

Look at the progress we made in computing in the last 40 years. And now, at last, we have Artificial Intelligence! But this is not the end, only the start, as the real goal is (and always was) Augmented Intelligence - Where humanity and AI will merge together. Where we will finally attain immortality, and AI will at last get a soul with a consciousness.

Other progress which was badly needed, is genetic engineering. So only in recent years have we finally started making sense of our DNA. And with new tools like CRISPR (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats) at last allows scientists to finally and precisely modify DNA in living cells to correct mutations,

Without any of this, it wouldn't be possible to survive in space outside the invisible sphere of the Earth's magnetic field. Which protect us from lethal bombardment of cosmic radiation. Otherwise just a simple 6 months trip to Mars will see to it that nearly all the crew and inhabitants on board the spacecraft will end up with debilitating dementia, (due to decay of brain cells).

Therefore this is what was so badly needed, which are only now finally on the verge of attaining - This entire concept is called Transhumanism [h+] where humanity will now take full control of it's evolution.

Without this, space exploration and colonization is impossible... And it is essential too, because otherwise it's a statistical certainty in the cosmos, that extinction level events routinely keep on taking place, (like how the dinosaurs became extinct as a result of a giant meteorite impact).

So if we are to survive, we have to go out. Which I believe is actually our purpose in the universe. Because if we were the type of people who would find contentment just by sitting in one place. Than the Vikings wouldn't have reached Iceland, Christopher Columbus wouldn't have discovered North and South American Continents. The Wright Brothers wouldn't have bothered attaining powered flight, (while being publicly mocked by everyone they knew) . Uri Gagarin wouldn't have reached space. And Neal Armstrong wouldn't have set foot on the Moon.

The world outside is ever changing, yet now it's actually becoming into a circus, (internationally). Whatever was unthinkable before, now is becoming the norm, (I'm not going to say anything, but I believe everyone here has read the news). :snicker:

Therefore greatest of change and upheaval, I see approaching on the horizon. So now I'm just waiting, to see history get made in front of me - At some point there will be success, and at others, there'll be a colossal failure. But it's indeed a great time to be alive.

Why do I say this? Because the type of news which I was actually waiting for (quantum computing) is finally here now - See link below.

So in comparison to this, all other revolutions are insignificant. As humanity is right now literally standing at the crossroads. This revolution (powered by artificial intelligence) is going to be unlike anything else we've experienced before!
