I been getting the hydrogen peroxide/water 5 minute soak tip popping up on my youtube to help with germination of pepper seeds. Has anyone done this or does it help and work ?

I've never tried that but this year my pepper seeds popped up very well by using a heat mat underneath. I never used one before and always had difficulty getting pepper seeds to germinate. I didn soak them before planting them either. I believe they need the bottom heat more than, say, tomatoes do and the warm soil is the trick.

Clay— I have never heard of this. I will be interested to hear from you how it turns out. I have never done that sort of thing with pepper seeds.
I am still eating peppers that I grew four years ago. I had a monster harvest.

I've never heard of it, but i found that bought seed won't germinate for me. So i bought some chilli peppers from the supermarket, collected the seed and sowed then straight away and they came up.

Hydrogen Peroxide doesn't do anything for germination of seeds directly, be they of any plant - Where it will help however, is getting rid of any fungal infection on the outer shell of the seed. So clearly, there are benefits, specially if seed storage was in a humid environment. But that's about it.

Ok, editing this post, as I just asked Google AI about this. So below is the answer I got.

I had both chilli and sweet pepper seeds that Tetters had saved from ones from the farm shop. Lobbed them in some pots and put them in the airing cupboard, watering every day (Oh, I soaked them overnight before that) Got germination in about 3 days :)
