Back in the 1980s, before the Normans invaded England, I worked for a few years for a chemical company that was making feed additives for dairy cows. I lost a lot of illusions. I quit my job when they announced a transfer of everyone from Rochester NY to East Tennessee. I couldn't find a job, and went back to school for another degree. I won't name names or the products, but I thought they were snake oil salesmen. The corporation closed that program shortly after I quit. They feed a lot of weird things to cows.
That's interesting to know @Daniel W Well done for quitting I'm pretty sure cows like eating trees and shrubs as well as grass but like in the 1980's, they never should have been fed mashed up sheep brains. That wasn't a normal part of their diet. That's what lead to BSE
