Just sat there looking at me as I went to the car. Even talked them and said have a good day. Did send to the girl upstairs who feeds squirrels etc and said they are waiting on breakfast from you.

Maybe they are looking at the humans and laughing. Saying to each other that look at these people who have only been around here since the last few hundred years. While we've been in this environment for millenniums! And yet they think they own everything OK, let's fool them into doing something for us now.

I had a little fawn, probably only about 2-3 months old, jump through the squares of my field fence (4" square holes). He was walking around with my goats. I saw him at feed time. I had to feed the goats and pen them up but that fawn, since my goats weren't afraid of me, kept trying to get into the pen with the goats. Finally I got the goats in the pen but that fawn was still right outside the gate. The more I coaxed him to leave, the closer he followed me !!
I got my neighbor to come into the field, very tall guy, and that scared him enough that he left the same way he came.

The next year a full grown buck with one little prong horn came on the property and just wandered around. I came out on the porch and recorded him on my phone. I think he was my fawn and remembered me because he came right up to the porch, as soon as he saw me, and looked and looked at me. He was so close I could've reached out and touched him. Then he wandered off, jumped the fence back into the goat pasture and over the back fence and out of sight.

And they say that animals don't have much long term memory - What nonsense... I never believed it for a second.

@Clay_22 Finally looks like the snow is melting down . Lovely pic of the deer huddled together under the tree . Looks like they keep your tree trimmed up evenly . Are they mule deer? Looks like the same vultures sneaking around my garden already. I always thought deer were so cute and charming….until they depended on my garden as their free for all salad bar proceeded to chop the heads off my Lily’s, roses and ate all the hostas :p :worried::confused: . Mixed feelings on deer in my garden for sure. :nerdy:

They have been sneaking in and out of a corner of the north pasture lately too and even coming close up to the house . Then Roxy dog warns them to get off her play yard… she’s very controlling and protective … it’s the border collie in her….scares them off. They aren’t afraid of me but Roxy has a mean bark… :headbang:
