Is this not totally disgusting ? Looks like a giant cat spit up every ounce of bile in his stomach !!:eek::eek:

I tried washing it off with the hose but it was so thick that I had to actually peel it off the leaves !! YUCK !!

It’s a slime mold. I have often found it around my garden. Its bright yellow color is a bit alarming. Clear the slime off the poor strawberry plant to see if it will recover and possibly remove any bark near the plants. It’s seems the mold likes bark for some reason, hope the berry recovers.

So that's what ya call it !! I was close calling it slime .
I did get it all off and the plant is ok. The soil I filled that raised bed with has a lot of wood chips in it. It's hard to find any bagged soil without wood chips in lately.

Never saw anything like they before. Never even knew such a thing existed. Enjoyed learning about it though.

If it's a mold, shouldn't hydrogen peroxide or liquor ammonia get rid of it? Like stop it from coming back? How about a general purpose antiseptic cleaner like Detol?

I don't know @S-H if peroxide would be good for my strawberry roots. I had to pull it off with my hands. It was quite thick !!

I have a microscope, so if anything like that ever came up in my garden - I'll definitely look at it through that.
