    First sign of any activity.
The feeder has been out for a week with pellets and water.
This was the first visitor, last night.
    All the food was eaten.

Strangely, no hedgehogs have visited the feeder in the last two nights. In fact the cameras didn't pick up any images of them on Thursday night. Maybe they stayed closer to home, (wherever that is). But there was a lot of coming and going through the doorway last night, between 11.00pm and 6.00am this morning.

This was interesting, I had to take a screen-shot off a video as this was the clearest bit shown.
There's a hedgehog in the bottom left-hand corner of the frame with what looks like a bit of dry grass or whatever, in its mouth. It's heading towards the hedgehog house in the back corner of the garden behind the camera which I put out with a lot of hay inside, a week ago and not towards the doorway.

I might turn the camera around today and see if it picks up any activity.

Do you think it's a female and she's planning on building a nest in one of your hedgehog houses?
    If so...:smt026babies coming !! :smt026

Not so sure about that. But a few years ago when there was and as there is now, a house under the azaleas next to the main patio, the camera caught one taking stuff into it, although I'd already put plenty of hay in it. It might just be something instinctive that they do.

I've moved the camera, so it will now pick up anything coming through the doorway or going into the house.

Much of the food in the feeding station was eaten last night, but unfortunately the camera covering it didn't work. I'll try a different card.
But the other, a newer camera in its new position recorded quite a bit of activity.

The first thing I noticed was that the pagoda was "hanging" but has been open to the elements for close to forty years.

It looks like the house in the corner has a new tenant. This is the newest house, it's larger than the others and came with a removable vinyl floor covering.

This is the first photo recorded. around half past eleven, of a hedgehog coming out of the house.

The video that followed showed it looking through the doorway, but it didn't go through it.

The next video showed it passing the camera on its way up the garden.

No more photos or videos until 5.49 am when the camera caught this naffin' cat! It stood on top of the house then jumped up and went over the fence.

The hedgehog came back at 6.00am and went into the house with a mouthful of dried bamboo leaves.

No further videos or photos, so it didn't come out again before 8.00am when the camera is programmed to turn itself off.

I might put some loosely rolled up garden wire on top of the house's roof, so the cat won't be able to use it to climb over the fence.

Riley— it is great to see renewed activity there. I guess you could say that Spring heralds their return.
Oh, I am very happy to see them.

I checked the camera that recorded nothing. But could find nothing wrong with it. The card worked fine on my laptop and if it wasn't working on the camera it should say "remove card" and it didn't.
The batteries are OK and it's on an adapter plugged into the mains in the garage.
So I've put it out again. But I've ordered another camera direct from Apeman. they've come down in price, it was only £38 post free.
so if the original still works, I'm not that bothered. I've always been one for having "spare stuff."

I've strung some garden wire across the corner made by the two adjoining fence panels, in the hopes it will deter the cat from climbing out of the garden that way.
I tried not to make too much noise.
Why neighbours let cats roam free all night, is beyond me. They never defecate in their owner's garden, it's always in that of someone else.

No activity last night. Well.. the camera facing the feeder only picked up me, as I went out of the French windows in the evening, to go down to the tea-house to collect a couple of beers from the fridge. The food in the feeder was undisturbed.
The other camera picked up nothing.
Another disappointment was that Apeman has cancelled my order for the camera and issued me a refund as they say they are out of stock!
What a way to run a business!

So I've ordered one from Amazon for the same price. It's not an Apeman, but it is.....under a different name as it looks exactly the same.
