Remember these 2 glass lenses I got recently? Well combining these 2 back to back, I discovered that I now have a makeshift crude microscope. Now this simple contraption can easily enable me to spot plant pests very quickly - Instead of lugging the microscope which me into the garden. Phone camera is unable to do justice here, (the eye can focus on 4 times more magnification)... It's far better zoom in comparison to any magnifying glass, which at best are 2x power. But this is the same power as a jeweler's loupe, exceeding 10x easily. And instead of squinting through it - This is a giant where both eyes can easily see the target at the same time! I think I'm more happy with this use and configuration, instead of utilizing these in a security system to blind intruders (by burning their retina to a crisp).
Very funny Zigs. But yes, I like this configuration a lot. I'll get more lenses for the security system - However on this I'm thinking about adding a small ring light of smartphones. Or make one myself, if whatever is available turns out to be of the wrong size.
