Thank you Sjoerd and Anniekay for the nice complements.

Annie so sorry you’re having trouble uploading pics. Have you logged out then login in to Gardenstew, be sure all the other windows are closed and nothing is running in the background in other windows etc. . I had trouble logging in this am too. I think I have a week Wi-Fi connection, we don’t have fiber optic just cable. I cleared out all my windows on iPad and closed them nothing running in the background , then typed in gardenstew….and the site finally popped up. Never had this issue with other sites either. It must be an older site and has restrictions when logging in. Puzzling…I don’t know what you have tried …this is what I found when I asked you know who… Google.

    ***here’s what google said.***
To add pics have you sized the pics down to the smallest size - on ur iPhone? Let’s see if we can figure this out.

Issues adding photos to websites like GardenStew often stem from
large file sizes, unsupported file formats, or browser issues. To fix this, resize images to below 1MB (roughly 640 pixels wide), ensure they are in JPG/PNG format, and try using a different browser or disabling extensions

Common Reasons You Cannot Add Pictures:
    • File Size Too Large: Many platforms, including older forums, fail to upload images larger than 1MB or 2MB.
    • Unsupported File Type: Ensure your image is a standard format like JPG, JPEG, or PNG.
    • Browser Issues: Browser extensions (like ad blockers) or a high volume of cache/cookies can interrupt the uploading process.
    • Connection Timeouts: Slow internet connections can cause the upload to time out before completion
    Troubleshooting Steps:
    1. Resize the image: Use an online tool or software to reduce the photo to a "medium" size (e.g.,
      640
      ×480
      pixels).
    2. Convert to JPG: Convert images to JPG/JPEG format if they are in HEIC or proprietary formats.
    3. Use a different browser: Try switching from Chrome to Firefox or Edge, or use an incognito/private window.
    4. Check file name: Remove special characters from the file name (e.g., use photo1.jpg instead of photo#1.jpg)

If the photo is extremely large in size your internet can time out during the upload and it never completes. I personally resize photos before uploading them because straight from the camera they are just too large to upload.

A specific "can't upload" error like ….stuck in a loop.
GardenStew is usually triggered by one of three things: browser incompatibility, file format issues, or server-side limits.

    1. Change Your Uploader (Most Common Fix)
If your browser does not support Flash, the "modern" uploader will fail with a generic error.
    • Go to your Preferences (under your profile).
    • Un-check the box that says "Use the Flash-based uploader to upload attachments".
    • This switches you to the basic uploader, which is more reliable for most modern browsers like Safari or updated versions of Chrome.
    2. Check File Size and Dimensions
The server will reject files that are too heavy or too large in pixels, often resulting in an "undefined" or "failed" notice.
    • Dimensions: Aim for 500 to 640 pixels wide.
    • File Size: Keep your images under 200 KB if possible. High-resolution photos from modern phones (often 3MB+) frequently cause timeouts.
    • Pro Tip: If you are on a phone, try selecting the "Medium" or "Small" size option when prompted during the upload process.

    3. Verify File Format
The site specifically looks for standard web formats.
    • Allowed: .JPG, .PNG, or .GIF.
    • Restricted: Avoid .HEIC files (the default on many newer iPhones). These must be converted to .JPG before the site will recognize them.

    4. Browser & Connection
    • Clear Cache: A "clogged" browser history can stop the upload script from running correctly. Try clearing your history or using an Incognito/Private window.
    • Connection Stability: If you are on a weak Wi-Fi or mobile data connection, the upload might "hang" or time out.
If you can tell me the exact text of the error message, I can pinpoint the exact setting you need to change. Do you see a message like "something went wrong" or "invalid file type"?

I did all that. I rebooted, had only the stew up, and no matter if I'm on my tablet or phone my pics are resized to medium as always and photos will. Not. Load.

Something has to be messed up in the Stew because it was after Franks last update that this happened. I might just have to find another garden forum.

@Anniekay another shot ! By the way I cannot post from my iPhone either.
I went into preferences and couldn’t find any thing that matched up with initial settings to post pics. Something is dragging somewhere…

One more try have you posted first thumbnails then full images?
