Alrighty then… I have been locked out again , stuck in a loop going round and round. I’m beginning to get a bit
    dizzy ..:smt044

Back to the topic… what I have been working on the past few weeks . Cleaned up the branches cut from the dead tree . Then dragged eight 25’ branches to add to the fencing I’m building around the perimeter of the pastures. This is a wide fence made of shrubbery and branch materials from trees. Might as well put all this material to work blocking the deer and from emerging from the forest to snack on the garden flowers.

Mowed the pastures and lawns and checked for critters that roam the property. Limed the south pasture . Today was 67F and the landscape dried out , nice to be outside in good weather.
Ok third times a charm… hope this posts… :fingerscrossed:

JD— toast’s = to see. It’s that spelling correction. I may have to turn it off again. Sorry about that.

A lot of noise this morning. A neighbour four doors away was having a huge multi-trunk conifer taken down in their garden. They had to leave the far side until last, before they could get at it, as it was hanging over another garden.

There's a guy swinging around with a chain saw on the end of a rope, cutting big chunks off it.

He started much higher up than this. It must have cost a fortune. In the UK the cost of disposing of the timber by private contractors is very high. More costly than just cutting it down.

It's took them most of the day.

My wife didn't find me any jobs to do, other than make her a cappuccino.

So with time to spare, I was a bit predictable, looking for something that needed attention.

    I soon found something!

These peace lilies in the hanging baskets in our hall have to be replaced every six months, as they don't get much light from the landing window. They were looking “dog rough.”

So I decided to go to B&Q for some more.

Then just a question of taking down the baskets. Chucking out the old plants, cleaning the plastic pots in them and planting the new ones.

The “baskets” are quite thick glazed pot ones. I had to drill three holes in each, (twenty-odd years ago) to take the hooks. As the two are quite heavy, the chains attach to hooks I put through the plasterboard ceiling and into “noggins” I fitted between a couple of rafters.

As I was leaving B&Q, these “followed me home.”

Four Dianthus and two Andromeda Blue Lagoon.

They are eventually destined to replace these heathers.

The ones at each end can go in the shorter wooden troughs presently stored in the garage, they will sit either side of the tea-house steps

The heathers in the middle, “I'll find somewhere for them.”
The new plants can stay in the shed for now.

Wow, not me. Without vigilant monitoring they would decimate ALL my hostas. I have about 8 of them and I buy a lot of peppermint oil

Today it was pretty chilly but I got outside with my weedeater and got the edges of beds all trimmed. After that I mulched some of the flower beds that are all clean of weeds and called it a day.

:hi: We are all back in business…. :fingerscrossed: Let it flow… let it flow…:flower: …let it flow .. Oh ..wait , that was snow not flow.
    Never mind …..:smt003

The pastures have dried out where the pond was from all the rain. The ground was so saturated there was no place for the water to drain. Still a bit muddy here and there but got the west pasture completely mowed. Managed to chase out the deer .. they are active during the day out looking for fancy treats. Bah humbug… not in my garden . :smt027

It was a golf day, first time this year we were in, "short-sleeve order," it was that warm.

I wasn't going to do anything when I got home, but I checked on the new plants in the shed and they seemed a bit too warm. So I decided to swop them all round. I had plenty of topsoil and compost and pots, so I was able to make the changes.

The new ones are in the troughs on the patio.

Got the other troughs out of the garage and four of the heathers went in them, either side of the tea-house steps.

That acer palmatum has a lot of new leaf buds on it.

I'm undecided as to what to do with the other two heathers, I'll leave them in their plastic pots on the small patio in front of the shed.

I need to give path and the area in front of the tea-house a go over with the jet-wash and do a bit of pointing...soon!
The main patio just wants a dose of "wet n' forget."

Moving around the seedlings to a shadier spot in the conservatory so that they don't dry out. Weeded by the plum tree and trying to dig out a dying rhododendron there but it's becoming difficult.
