Hi Palustris, I think your name is great , is it after Caltha Palustris , the marsh marigold-- water cowslip ????? . I have some in my pond and they are my indication that Spring is sprung. The pics are good, its nice to see some new flowers out .I have a load of polyanthus (primrose ) starting to pop any day now 8) Bugs ......ps Welcome
Aaaahhhh now that's what I like to see - a little hint that spring is on it's way!!!! Lots of bulbs sprouting here but none in flower yet except the cyclamen. Thanks Eric.
Lovely as usual Eric. My crocus are just poking their noses through the ground. I really must get some snowdrops!
I envy those of you that will have spring soon. We have had about the mildest January I can remember here in Maine so the "real" winter is yet to come. Usually by April there is a "hint" of spring in the air but not much emerging from the ground until about the first of May.
Dawn, when is your "frost-free" date? In central Ohio, we can usually plant tender plants by the 15th of May. They used to say the 30th of May, but it seems to get earlier and earlier. Some people tempt fate and start planting May 10th. We are also experiencing the warmest January on record since 1940 something. Things are sprouting that usually come up in March. If the trend holds, will I be planting March 15th? I'm dreaming, of course.
