Now that's the best way to take a stroll - no walking!! The rockery is looking really good now Eric but I don't envy you the job of cutting all that grass. Thanks for posting the tour of your garden for us.
For those who do not realise what went on before, this is a picture taken from about where the big pond is. It was taken about 11 years ago.
Eric how on earth do you maintain all of that gorgeousness? However you do it though keep it up as we get to take yearly strolls around it
Eric, what a difference in the before and after picture of you land. I can not imagine planning all of that out and figuring out where to start. Did you make that transformation on your own? Just a fantastic tour, thanks so much.
Wife and I did it with the help of our two daughters (before they went to university). There was no overall plan, it is a bit like Topsy, it just grew! In fact the design is a bit wrong in many ways. The Veg areas are right in the middle and would probably have been better to one side, but the middle section of land was the only part which was not contaminated by old batteries (1,000's of them too). The cobble paths are original, found buried under 18 inches of soil and leaf mould. Almost all of the rocks were dug up from the garden. Finally we reckon we have removed well over 30 tons of rubbish over the years from scrap iron to broken glass and everything in between. When we were looking to sell up and move the Estate agent thought we would have got a better price for the property if we had turned it into a feld with a stable on it!
