This showed up this year amidst my ferns, and I can't remember if I planted this, or it just appeared. Can anyone tell me what it is? I'm guessing a rogue tree that needs to be removed. Just want to make sure it's not a fern before giving it the boot.

It's about 4' tall, and narrow.

I hope it's a fern but it looks a lot like the baby trees I have been fighting :-? . As big as it is your going to have a time trying to get rid off it. Mine just keep coming back :'( . I'll keep my fingers crossed for fern.

It looks like a sumac to me. The leaves are more across from each other than Glenda's elm. Sumac's are hard to get rid of. They just keep coming back. Dooley
