    You want to build a stone wall around your 12'x20' garden. If the bricks are 6" high & 6" wide and 1' long,. How many bricks will you need to make a wall 6" wide & 4' tall ?
    I'll post an answer later today.

    If you are going completely around = 256
    But if only tall = 8

    RIDDLE

    Hi, Tom;
    Answer(s) to your riddle are:
    512 blocks if the 12' x 20' measurements are inside and NO gap/opening(s) are left for ingress/egress.
    504 blocks if the 12' x 20' measurements are outside and NO gap/openings are left for ingress/egress.
    Subtract 32 blocks for each 4' opening through the wall, but !CAUTION!, you'll need to build in some pilasters if you want the wall to stand in more than a very gentle breeze... The preceding figures do not incorporate any allowance for the mortar spacing which is typically 3/8".

    Is it a trick and you only need 8 bricks to get a wall 6"wide and 4' tall?
