    Cocoon's and 1 turning into a Butterfly :smt038 .

    On the outside of screen

    I have to wait to finish this project. (Birth is more important :smt023 )

    Do you see the gold ring on the cocoon's?

    Just came out of its cocoon and having a hard time figuring things out.

    Now it flew on my shirt upside down.

    Doing much better so it flew off :smt051 .

    WOW Gizmo I love pictures like this so much. Only thing better would be to witness the butterfly emerge in real life. Thank you so much for posting them for us. :-D

    Great pictures Gizmo! We had loads of Monarch caterpillars this year, but I never did find any cocoons. I would have loved to watch the butterfly emerge.

    So many caterpillars gave me the luck to have so many cocoons. This was my first year to find any. They were all over the place and on everything. They leave behind a suction cup. Some of the cups I found later still hanging and under them on the ground was some that died. I know it's the cycle of life and had a lot of births but still.

    We had a special ed teacher where I worked in Wisconsin who would bring them to her classroom for the kids to watch. They would turn them loose outside when they turned. The kids were all deaf and it was fun to watch their hands fly when they were talking about them. I haven't seen any here either. Thanks for the pictures. dooley

    Glad everyone like this post. I think out of all the butterfly posts I've done this was the fondest one yet. Even the post I got pic of the month back in May.
