Ok then Droopy, here you are:...a little late, but better late than never.
Does this ring a bell? Of course the ones that you buy in the super markets are not the same as as tastey as what you get in the street, but I have to say: this, once warmed-up, was one was pret-TY darn good. :p

Do the rest of you folks eat little snacks in between meals or while watching telly? I am curiopus what they are and how they look.

Honey on toast has to be my weakness Sjoerd. I also like to have a steady supply of almonds on hand while working. Don't know why but they help me concentrate :)

When it comes to to those smaller snacks, like almonds, I'm nuts about salted cashews.
Have you ever eaten marzipan, Frank...it's made from almonds?

Yes indeed Sjoerd but it's not a favourite. My savoury teeth outnumber my sweet tooth (somehow they don't grumble at honey however).

Adding another to the list I find that carrots also make a great TV snack.

Snacking. I can snack all day. Especially if there is cookies around. Snacks with a mint flavor I like.
Of course I also like peanuts, cashews. And Chocolate candy, like fudge or brownies, mmmmm. Some people may hate me as I really don't need to worry much about my waistline. I'm tall and skinny, I used to be told I would blow away with the wind. Well now I'm just hungry :setf_020: I just love the Christmas baking that can be done on the holidays.

When it comes to snacks before dinner, I go for summer sausage, cheese and crackers. And of coarse a couple oz. of Jack Daniels to wash every thing down. Peanuts and Cashews will also do nicely thank you, and for a fancier snack Mimi makes an onion, sour cream, tomato thing with scoop able Frito's that, as far as I'm concerned, could be the meal. But you need to include peanut butter some way in any conversation about snacks, with honey, on celery, on that same summer sausage, even just on your finger.

Thank you Sjoerd, looks delicious! My between-meals-snack is a fruit or two, whatever's in the house. For TV-snack, peanuts, cashews, crisps, chockolate, cheese and crackers, just cheese or crackers, anything.

Sjoerd, your sausage pastry looks really good. The pastry looks nice and flaky, I like that kind.

I don't snack between meals because I don't as a general rule eat meals during the day, I eat dinner and that is it unless we are away from home then I eat more often. At home I drink either a glass of milk or a can of soy milk when I start feeling "peckish".

Snacking while watching TV is another thing, I like cheese and crackers or potato chips, sometimes chips with spinach dip.

I do have a jar of gumdrops and a jar of dark chocolate M & M's by the computer for when the need for sweets hits me.

Well, I had forgotten about fruits...of course I like them as well, but we are at the mercy of what'
s at the market on saturday. There is always a good selection of fruits from all over the world, even in our small town. I like most of them.
I was once staying at a "Backpackers'" in NZ and got to be friendly with the mgr. One night one of his buddies came through on his way somewhere with a huge truckload of Royal Gala apples. He gave his mate bushels of them and we got a huge paper bag full from him.
All the apples were not fit (in exporters eyes) for export so they were being taken somewhere to be mashed up foir apple sauce.
I have to tell you they were the most delicuious apple I had ever eaten. nice and crispy (so that juice sprung out with each crunchy bite). They were sweet too.
I am thrilled when they are available here.
I have a seriuous weakness for tropical fruits too.
My snacking habits are almost exactly likie yours, Toni. It's fruit or fruit juices during the day, but at telly time it's salted stuff or savory.
As for dips... I like avacado dips the most.

My favourite snacks are honey mongoes and cherries (when in season.) Pringles crisps are my downfall as I could easily scoff a whole tube if given the chance.

Now here is a topic I know something about !!
Once my son goes to bed at 8:30, it's ME time and
I waddle to the freezer for ICE-CREAM ! Winter or
Summer, Spring or Fall. If there happens to be
almonds or bits of candy it, all the better.

Apples! Definitely anything peanutbutter. Does mug after mug of herb tea count as snacking? Nuts in any form, though I have to stick to lo-sodium (grump). Leftovers are good, too. And wholegrain toast with a big ol' blob of Mom's homemade applebutter. Durn, now I'm hungry...

Well depends on whats here really, if i have made a cake or waffles or something then a piece of that, or waffles an jam.

but mostly we have leftovers, like fish on hardbread or crackers, baccalao used as a spread on crackers or crispbread. salmon an creme cheese with mustard sauce. crab an remulade, or a veggies an homemade creme cheese spread. salmon an omelettes. we don't eat alot of sweets tho, thats for the weekend when we have to go out for coffee an cakes or they come to our house. but we do eat alot of fish, like 4-5 times a week.

If its sweet I like it! Especially Chocolate. I love my fruits to though. Especially Strawberries or oranges with a dash of salt, yum. I rarely snack between meals but TV time is different.

i have such a poor eating schedule that sometimes my snack is my meal. If I have nuts (almonds and cashews) they are so heavy until they satisfy my appetite. If I could have one snack available at all times at my beck and call it would be seeded watermelon. I could live on watermelon I love it and would have it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It refreshes me whenever I have some.
