I presently grow shittake mushrooms in 3 green houses and had trouble getting to a 1000 lbs a week. I found that a cold shock got them pinning and then I brought the heat up in the green houses and I got hundreds of mushrooms off each block in the first flush. But the problem is they are too small any help out there. Regards shittake
Did you do the cold shock as a dunk or a temp drop in the greenhouses? I've always done my cold shock as a dunk and had a pretty good flush of larger sized caps.
cold shock For initial cold shock I use refigeration unit on a three ton truck that way I can shock 400 blocks at one time. I use cold soak for flush 2,3,and 4. I hope that makes it clearer. Regards picker
