They make the noise any time you are near their joungsters. I've taken a lot of pics of them as they run ahead of you, then fly on a little way...
They are impossible to see in the nest, as soon as they are born they can run.
There doesn't seem to be too much interest in these stories, I might have one more and that will probably be the last.
Some Killdeer have been down at the lagoon all spring and today I saw [ATTACH] what they were making such a noise about.
